As we are now getting into the season and we are starting to get a bit more serious with discussion, seems a suitable time to post the following as it's repeatedly shown itself to be a value reference tool in trade & draft discussion

And as per normal, thanks to Lore for putting this together - always a fantastic reference tool

And yes this post is now stickied - makes it easy to keep track of (can easily reverse this though if needed)

I think north shows why priority picks should exist, but something like pick 30 should be what is offered. If you win less than 8 games over a 2 year period, you get Pick 30 ( and that can even be fixed, so to not be pushed back by father sons, academy players).
I agree if you're making priority picks a thing then multiple pick 30s sounds more appropriate

Nice idea but I’d be concerned about Conway’s durability.
Grundy won't be going to Geelong.

Ceglar retired. Our ruck set up will be a rotation of Conway / Stanley / Blicavs and largely dependent on who we play. And they'll develop someone in the VFL in need, or rookie someone if they don't think Neale can play a forward / ruck role effectively.

Wilson saying swans ,port or cats .
But she's a sour old bat ,surly other clubs come sniffing .
Rumour he loves inner city Melbourne.
Prob rules out .
Pies.
Dees.
Tigers.

Interesting how this pans out

Sanders said North had been in contact with him since he was 15 years old, which North will no doubt use in their argument. Though Sanders' old man was a former TAS U18 state team coach, so it's hard to argue North provided him opportunities he wouldn't have otherwise had.
So given he’s probably just 18 or close to it they’ve had been in contact with him for 3 years, of which he’s been playing in Melbourne for the last 2 years. They have done sweet FA to develop him, and as you say his old man was a former coach and I know for a fact he’s been exposed to high level coaching without the input of the Roos. It’s ridiculous really. Just cheating the system.

I think there’s a fair bit of pressure on the AFL not to make him available as a Kangas NGA. Ridiculous decision if it went ahead.

We should be moving heaven and Earth to get him.

That’s nice, but a short back and sides doesn’t make you better at footy.

That's way we picked Billie over Smith .

Club went see Smith, the house had broken windows etc place a a mess Smith had long hair ..

Billie had a short ,back and sides do and sitting in a neat house .

I know some have been keen on Van De Heuval in the VFL threads, he's been invited to the combine.

foxdog50 seems there may be a couple of clubs (at least) interested in Bailey - may require a pulling of the draft pick trigger a bit earlier than waiting for the rookie draft

Seems a big difference to the Sun Herald...

George Stevens

GWV Rebels/Vic Country

Midfielder, 189cm
U18 National Championships Averages: 19.3 disposals, 2.3 marks, 3.8 clearances, 3 inside-50s, 6.3 tackles, 4.5 score involvement, 0.5 goals, 115 ranking points (4 games)
If this strong-bodied midfielder was a touch quicker, a lot more people would be talking about him. A lack of speed has been a major question mark from recruiters. However, Stevens is hard to ignore as a potential second-round prospect given what he does bring to the table. He’s been a consistent ball-winner at every level this season, since returning from an ACL injury which wiped out his 2022 campaign. Stevens is a contested ball beast, wins plenty of ground balls, is a penetrating kick, has clean hands and makes good decisions. He also displays great leadership qualities. Stevens was named on the bench in the under-18 All-Australian team following the national championships and has gone on to play some strong VFL football with Geelong. He racked up 29 disposals, five marks and four clearances in a round 21 match for the Cats.

Jhye Clark 13

There's just no way this Stevens bloke is only 84kg at 189cm.

Look at the size of him!!! He's nudging 100kg at the bare minimum.
