As we are now getting into the season and we are starting to get a bit more serious with discussion, seems a suitable time to post the following as it's repeatedly shown itself to be a value reference tool in trade & draft discussion

And as per normal, thanks to Lore for putting this together - always a fantastic reference tool

And yes this post is now stickied - makes it easy to keep track of (can easily reverse this though if needed)

I know some have been keen on Van De Heuval in the VFL threads, he's been invited to the combine.

Admit that I’ve only seen parts of VFL matches this season however I haven’t seen stand out performances by Van De Heuval that would give me confidence to invest in a 25 YO. I recall a couple of games with less than 10 possessions. What am I missing?

How would North actually have any influence?

The AFL deliberately doesn’t confirm what the compo will be until the deal is actually done. Hence North can’t then turn around and say oh, actually, we will offer McKay a contract.

Besides, the contract between McKay and Essendon is probably already agreed, possibly even months ago.

I think like with Danger .. a lot can be worked out before an offical offer is put into the afl system.

The offical timing of the compensation notification and being told and knowing what the comp to expect can be different things. I know some clubs have been surprised at the comp they recieved and not received.... but North will have a solid idea if the offer is not Band1.

If the contract between McKay and Ess have been agreed to then that certain sets a minimum...not the max.

What North does to help a deal along... might depend on if a player is happy to move from North to club X as a trade. It would not be the first time players have been traded for unders.

Anyone know his nick name in at the club?

That's absolutely mouthwatering. Nothing to lose so play him this week even just for 55% game time. He'll get beaten by English for sure but this isn't going up against Mumford where you're worried about him surviving.

Grundy won't be going to Geelong.
I’m not so sure. Geelong was very keen last year and will be making the case again.

He can continue to live in Melbourne and play for Geelong. Something that Port and Sydney can’t offer.

A few players have done that over the journey, haven't they?

He looks good over head but its different level. I he goes OK at the combine than who knows. No real different than having a MSD ping at someone

It would be a good gauge against English.

Lets have a look at what we have before going to get another must be played in the best 23 ruck.

I feel if he is fit ..he is going to be best23 player next year..and I agree ... if that means we sub him and play Blitz in the last quarter... so be it.

2E yes.

Bews,menagola maybe ...see what ha

Bartel was living in St. Kilda at one point late in his career, Mooney was in Point Cook (although that’s probably too far West for Grundy).
From what I'm told Grundy's GPS stats show that the furthest west he's ever ventured is Marvel stadium and he's never gone past the west gate bridge. It's Brunswick St or nothing for him I've been told. Apparently even had to be convinced to go down and play at the city end of the MCG such is his dislike for the west.
