I did want that guy but glad we got COSDarcy Wilson with another solid praccy game for the Saints.

My #1 choice was Caleb Windsor- exactly the type of player we need-would have been a brilliant partner for Max Holmes- will be a star at Demonland.Cant have them all.
Cant have them all.
You're leaving out one who's already in the side in SDK.We didn’t tank good enough to land Sanders.
When you look at our list we really did/do lack for our next gen key position players… so I’m not shocked at all that we got one off COS, Caddy or Curtain.
I think we actually turned out pick into COS + Mannagh after the trade with Essendon.
Beside Neale we literally have nothing in terms of KPPs coming through and even Neale is a question mark imo.
We got a bunch of kids that can run through the middle and give a chop out if needed.
We literally have zero of any quality that can come in and chop out as a tall back.
Only Neale as a key forward.
So maybe we take COS even if we could have selected Sanders.
Could still handle another young gun key forward on the list.
Our KKP depth was dire even with Sav on the list and just got worse once he was traded.
Fingers crossed JUH is keen to move clubs.

We were not that far off getting him, iirc.
Pretty good assessment. I think the addition of the talls now takes the heat out of the need...but of course will we will monitor and add more as we go. Not all work as hoped and we will have to keep up with their progress. Hawkins drinking from the fountain of youth has seen amazing resiliance, almost freakish but it will stop sooner or later. Unless Foster type becomes a surprise packet .a tall forward does seem the one area of need but at least we have options and chances now. You're leaving out one who's already in the side in SDK.
If you switch it to SDK, COS & Neale, it suddenly looks pretty standard, and a good collection of talent/investment in that area. You could even throw Jack Henry in, who's not exactly old himself, and Ollie Henry at the other end.
You're right that we need one more, likely a forward, but you're making it a bit worse than it is by leaving out some key pieces of the puzzle.
Nobody has good footballers, multiple first round picks, or even second round picks just lying around in their state league side unutilised.
They're either so young that they're developing (Like COS), or they're just not any good (Like DGB at Hawthorn)
Guys like Jeka as depth is what AFL footy is. Nobody has ready made elite replacements just hanging around waiting to be used.
You hope that they can hold down the fort for a week or three, but that's it.
It's not some gaping hole in our list forged out of mismanagement, it's just what AFL footy is, and to get to guys like him, we're implying that all of Henry, SDK, Kolo, COS and even Blitz are going down...that's pretty unlikely, and pretty unlucky.
Probably no real surprise but there will be considerable interest in JUH. Haw is probably just the start.

Might be a bit of the old cap pressure to push the player you really want out about this
Bring him home.Probably no real surprise but there will be considerable interest in JUH. Haw is probably just the start.

Someone will offer 12-14 million for 10-12 years range.Up the offer for JUH ... and less available for Smith...
