If he didn't come this year then he can play out his career at St Kilda - they'll realise they shot themselves in the foot not accepting the trade and can now hold the player for the duration of his contract
BUT, if he does go to some club next year then I hope the offer is no better than a 3rd round pick

This is a poor draft id rather trade 19 info the future if we can. I think next year will be too late for marshall age wise i think we will get someone else instead.
I doubt Rowan is happy though he basically cant play ruck anymore and is stuck there for the rest of his career.

Nothing against Marshall, but **** paying overs for a contracted player that wants out, and wants out because they're paying his replacement $2m a year. I don't mind at all that they chose to hold him, I don't think he's the missing piece of a puzzle for us, there's other things we need to fix. But it'll be funny watching what happens with the Saints with how they've burnt player managers across the comp.
