If it was just for the 2017 season then I'd take a fit Goldstein. You know what you get with a fit Goldy. Gawn might regress or he might get better.

People have very short memories. Gawn was amazing in 2016, but Goldstein was as good as that or better in 2015. People were rating him in the top couple of players in the competition after his 2015.
He was also one of the best ruckman in the competition for several years prior to 2015.
He was clearly carrying an injury this year, so here's hoping that clears up over the offseason.
Gawn is a gun though, both fully fit would be a great thing to watch for next year.

We got them at their best in round 3 this year. You could make a case to have both as 1&2 best on the ground.

The results of this poll at the moment tell me a little about how I have obtained back to back to back top 500 supercoach finishes over recent years(will pretend this year never happened....).

Years of consistency trumps the magnificence of one and a half seasons if selecting a ruckman for 2017 only and both are injury free heading into round 1.

Goldstein would be the second or third best kick for goal at North. Not exactly difficult considering duds like Thomas are in contention.

Could do without the mr nice guy approach but would absolutely dominate at a Hawthorn.

All depends on Goldstein's fitness. Fully fit i'd say they're about on par. Although, it seems the penny's dropped for Gawn and he's likely to go on from here to be one of the greats.

One of the more ridiculous things I've seen on BigFooty of late. Gawn had a great second half of 2015, but Goldstein was second favourite for the Brownlow and rated in everyone's top 5-10 players in the entire competition heading into this season due to his 2015.
Gawn clearly much better this season though, and fully fit it's a close call for who you would take in 2017. Which is a massive compliment to Gawn.
