forget goodes as a midfielder this year he can't play there due to his injury, therefore up forward is his logical spot. don't think he'll play on such poor opponents next week but if he chips in with 2-3 goals he's doing his job. by the way duds hope you are enjoying the long kicking into our forward line albeit without grundy there, but i think his doing reasonably well at full back. no worse then leo was going

Trouble is, you are robbing Peter to pay Paul, he is our most creative midfielder and does lots of work up and down the ground (when fit).

Until Grundy moves into the midfield, and provides that role as well, ideally, we really want Goodes being damaging all over the ground.
You're too much Dudley.

Heath stopped a certain goal last night, although he probably lost the matchup against Campbell.

I think goodes up front gave us an edge we've been missing. If we can get Eski back with maybe even Fozzy, that would give us enough run and enough combined creativity to make up for it. I also think that once we get a more stable team we'll make a better run of it.

I have always said that he 'could' be a useful player, and certainly hoped he would progress.

It was the ridiculous expectation of him as a power forward i have questioned.

He was soundly beaten both this week and last. However, he is a young player learning his trade, and will hopefuly learn.

LMAO, yes we hardly ran and hanballed at all last night, just long kicks all night.

even when MOL comes back into the team, it might be better to have goodes playing down in the forward line ... because his injury really limits him in the midfield.

and if we are concerned about runners in the midfield, maybe having goodes down in the goal square gives more licence to ryan o'keefe up the ground?

finally .... who will the cats use on goodes? scarlett will take hall (and beat him, no doubt!). but i can't see harley being able to match him for speed and in the air, and someone like milburn wouldn't be strong enough for him.

I like the way Goodes has come out and said we're going to exploit their weakness... just didn't like that he named it! Now they're going to prepare for us to be playing on and kicking it long into the 50 against isolated one-on-ones.

Still, when MOL comes back I like the idea of isolating the three - MOL, Hall and Goodes - in the forward line, and keeping Henry and ROK out as Inside-50 men.
