North Melbourne's Taylor Garner put in the slowest heat of the grand final sprint ever seen at the MCG.

With a history of hamstring problems his new coach Rhyce Shaw - at the ground to watch his brother Heath play for the Giants - would have surely blown up if he had pulled up short.

Garner jumped from the blocks like a Clydesdale jogging up the wing to collect his ticket putting in the most memorable performance by a North Melbourne No.6 since Arnold Briedis kicked 0.7 in the 1977 Grand Final draw.
