As others have said very bad news for Renee but good to see where sticking by her and trying to set her up with an off field role with the club.

"We will provide Renee with the best medical care for her knee and look forward to her being a long-term player for our club," Giants chief operating officer Richard Griffiths said. "We are also keen to have her involved off-field while she does rehabilitate and we're looking at her being part of the coaching and/or administration staff for the upcoming season."

Also
the AFL has told GWS they may replace Forth with an additional priority player selection.

Here is a bit more of a run down on the up coming process:

It has been determined that the following priority selections can be made:

· Victorian clubs (Carlton, Collingwood, Melbourne and Western Bulldogs) & Fremantle can pre-sign one player that has an association with the club

· Adelaide Crows and Brisbane Lions can pre-sign two players

· GWS Giants can pre-sign four players

Mr Lethlean also confirmed GWS and Fremantle would also receive an additional priority selection to compensate for the long-term injuries to their marquee players Renee Forth (GWS) and Kiara Bowers (Fremantle). Clubs are also welcome to list two Rookie players. Rookie players are those new to Australian football and/or have not been registered as an Australian football player over the past three seasons. The listing of players on women’s teams will be completed at the Women’s Draft which will be held in mid-October, with details of this event to be announced in the near future.

For next month’s women’s all-stars match between the Western Bulldogs and Melbourne at Whitten Oval only two NSW/ACT girls have been named in
Maddy Collier and Nicola Barr so you would think at some point they would make it on to the Giants list.

Yeah they will. The academies have been all about promoting the young girls.Unless the AFl pans on bringing in 20 girls from interstate more local experienced girls will make the list

Regarding our Women's team, its going to be a situation we've seen before.

Run hard, put your body in, and never ever ever let anyone intimidate you.

We'll make it through the tough early years, and then we'll be winning more games than we lose.

Go Giants !

Yeah, spotted her a couple of times. Did some nice things. Played for Melbourne, while our other marquee was one of the dogs assistant coaches since she did her knee,
She is a versatile player, decent Mark, decent kick, good in traffic. Can play up, back and mid.

So any other obvious names that we will be taking in the upcoming draft.

Mai Nguyen springs to mind

You would think Nicola Barr is very likely given she was in the exhibition match and recently won the womens afl b&f in the Sydney league, but we also can pick one more marquee player to cover for Renee Forth
