Just reading the HSun this morning and see that Harry O has signed on for another 3 years.

"COLLINGWOOD has rewarded defender Harry O'Brien with a new three year contract.

It fends off any advances from his home state of Western Australia or the new Gold Coast franchise.

O'Brien and his management met Collingwood chiefs and put pen to paper on Wednesday.

"I'm just rapt I'm going to be at the footy club for a further three years," O'Brien said after yesterday's 100-point thrashing of West Coast.

His signature effectively rules out a Gold Coast bid for his services.

"I didn't even give it thought. I just want to stay at this club. This club has done everything for me and they even allowed me to train when I wasn't even on their rookie list."

Some positive comments there from Harry. Good work Pies!

Seems to be getting more of the ball and using his options more wisely instead of just knocking the leather off the ball when he can. 3 more years could be what he needs to develop into a tough solid defender with athleticism and someone who has a bit of a spring in his step. Good to hear.

Great news.
Harry really fits in his own skin now, seems to have the confidence and now skill to back himself.
Three weeks ago I started to believe he will become a very talented back.
So far so good.
I hope it doesn't take three years to develop into a good back. I hope we get another three years of him being a good back.

Go Harry O'

Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes!!!! I so happy he has!! :thumbsu:
He has some very special talent & he's only just getting started & getting beter by the round! Just watching him spin out of those tackles, runs rings around his opponents. Love the way he plays!!

Good on ya Harry!!! :D:thumbsu:

Great news and the one thing i love is Harry's comment on not even thinking twice before signing the contract. Great to see some loyalty still in football and just shows that if you develop a players character as well as their football ability you have more chance of keeping them at your club.

Both Harry O and N Brown has been reasons for our recent form. Early on there concern and only concern was defense, now they are commanding the footy during the game and generally using it.

Harry O'Brien is a very good footballer. At times he looks awkward due to his gangly frame, but in reality he hits the footy hard, runs in straight lines and kicks to advantage 99% of the time.

He has similar skills to a young Mal Micheal only with more pace. The best difference though seems to be that he is a dedicated Pie of extremely good character.

Yes Yes yes I am glad his staying. His worked hard to get to Collingwood and they have treated him right. My favorite Collingwood player his hard at the ball and gives it his all. His 50th game is coming up soon and I can't believe how sudden it is.
