O'Brien has been ruled out for two weeks after he put his right hand through a pane of glass at the weekend.

Coach Nathan Buckley described the incident as a ''freak accident'' at O'Brien's home. The injury, which is to O'Brien's little finger, required stitches and will see him miss the Magpies' opening two NAB Cup games, against the Western Bulldogs and GWS.

He'll only miss week 1 of the NAB and considering we will be taking a youthful squad over this weekend (as much as 12 first-to-third year players) it means very little.

It doesn't effect his running so it's hardly a set back. It means he doesn't go to Sydney and maybe can't do upper body weights for a week or so.

Probably wouldn;t have played 3 out of 3 games NAB games anyway and takes nothing away from his ability to keep fit - they probably just dont want the stitches falling out as worst case scenario he may bleed to death given our luck.

By round one we will have everyone back except maybe .........Krakouer.

Who knows when he will be back......Depression is an illness that could take ages to overcome.

The pies should work out a way to get his daughters to live in melbouirne that may go a long way in snapping him out of the doldrums

Maxy on SEN said it's a small cut which required 2 stitches that he got from a glass cabinet. If a h&a game was tomorrow harry would be 100%.
