I think last night summed his form up since the 2010 Grand Final.

A few of us were talking last night and we couldn't remember the last time he could have walked off a ground and say he beat his player.

He looks badly out of form, he's slow he drops far too many marks, has even been caught ducking his head a few times, he gets ran-down far too often, he doesn't look able to break lines anymore and his kicking is a worry.

I think other teams have worked him out, put him under the pump early and take him deep, then move up the ground and let his player go nuts, he makes mistakes and looks gone once beaten early.

Needs to be dropped and Buckley could make a statement that no one is safe be dropping him.

Haha, drop Harry.:p

For who? Simon Buckley?

Pleaaaaaaaasssseeeee.

He got exposed, just like he has anytime we've had a substantial amount of defenders out and he's been playing on a star. (Which hasn't been too often).

Forget last night, Harry will be back when our backline is back, he's a vital cog in it.

Name the last game when you could say Harry O won that battle against.... today.

He is getting beaten far too often.

Who did he play on in the Grand Final? what happened?
is first role is to stop his player getting the ball and kicking a score, he's getting beaten far too often.

Has seemed to be down on confidence for a while now, a holiday in the reserves would remind him of his qualities and help get back the touch that has deserted him.

No shame in a holiday, everyone loses touch occasionally - except guns like PENDERS!!

Agreed. Something needs to be done. Wait and see is not an option.

Harry is very predicatable - when he marks the ball he just runs straight, feels the wind in his hair for a handful of paces and then kicks straight in the direction he's running.

A player can get away with that when they're young and have pace.

I think he needs to start mixing it up a bit.

Another aspect of this is that the big O isn't really a defender in the strictest sense of the word - he's a running ball carrier that starts on the backline. With Maxy out he is being made more accountable as a defender - which is something he just isn't.

Maybe time for Harry to move to the wing?

Our backline needs to be stronger before we could think about that.

I think Harry is fine in defense - so long as he has cover allowing him to run and I beleive we have better options on the wing.

First we need to get some meaty experienced defenders back in the team and then he needs a short break in the reserves to get his touch and confidence back.

Harry is not a wingman. Nor is he a forward (as others have suggested in the past). He is a backman.

He will be okay once he gets a few of the more experienced players back (Maxy, Taz, Brown).

Oh, and by the way, the last game Harry played where he beat his man was the Hawthorn Prelim last year... That isn't having to go too far back, is it now? He was aswesome in that game.

Harry O hasn't played well for two years.

Should never have been All Australian.

Rioli killed him last night. Stevie J killed him in the Grand Final.

Harry O has very few defensive skills.

Harry O needs a rocket up his backside.

You clearly don't go to many games.

Harry was probably best on ground in the final v West coast last season. And good again v Hawthorn the following week.

When he is bad, he is worse than terrible. But when he is good, he's great. Last night he was terrible, but to say he hasn't played a good game in two years is ridiculous.

Plus every time Harry kicked the ball he just bombed it. Goldsack could easily end up with his position when the others come back.

When Reid missed a game late last year (v W Coast i think) Harry played very well. Was doing Reids job of marking opposition kicks and did a great job. Other than that game i feel he has struggled and was terrible last night.

He needs to sharpen up, looks slow on the ground and timid in the air.

This actually proves you know nothing about Collingwood.
I could give you many examples of games where Harry has been in our top 10 players.
Ask West Coast in last years final what they thought of Harry that day.
Ask St Kilda in GF2 in 2010

The problem with discussing things with you is that you don't actually have a grasp of the subject matter which means the conversation can only ever be a one way discussion.

He has good attacking skills.

Harry O killed Stevie J in the preliminary final in 2010.

When things go Harry's way, he is fine.

But how many times has he dropped it under a high ball.

He needs to be sat down and told to concentrate on defending and not doing the easy, flashy things which he wants to do.

I am a fan of his but he needs to be well coached.

You are partly right in this Harry is not a conventional defender but a running half back who needs to be covered defensively.

This is how he has mostly been used and it worked well enough for us when all was settled.

Now that we have significant cover out he is exposed, not his fault or anybody elses.

We can't drop him but I think he is over rated a lot. He craps himself when he has to take a mark under pressure and everytime he gets the ball he runs and just boots it long. I don't rate him much and wouldn't be shattard if he went to gws but at the moment I wouldn't drop him and we can't afford to as well.
