I remember one. As a 10 or 11 year old I collected all the Pura Milk labels and sent them in to the company in the hope of winning, and what do you know I won a cricket set of bat, stumps and ball. In my excitement that night I used the face of the bat to tap in the stumps and completely ruined the stick. Cue tears.

won a mobile phone at the eagles vs crows game back in 1995. got drawn out of a barrel and had to go on the field at half time in some gladiators (tv show) promotion (met cheetah!!). had to race in a big blow up hamster wheel, fell on my ass in front of the 3 tier stand but still won. And the eagles beat the crows by 135 so it was a good day

Won a Sega Megadrive as a kid, Sonic the hedgehog was incredible.

Recently won a 30 day trip for two through Turkey, Greece and Egypt. Just came back last month, great trip. Was a 25 words or less, decides to be a smart and make a video containing 25 words.

I've actually had an alright run. I won some things as a kid, you know, token watches.

But when I was 11 or so, I won a subscription. Magazines have always been a big part of my life. I loved Soccer International at the time, even though I had only read five issues! I sent in a cut-out picture of a hidden Beckham head. Basically, I won a years subscription. What happens come the end of the run? I won again! That was a thrill.

Also, Mars did one of those free bars promotions. I found a wrapper on the ground that allowed you to get a free Mars bar. Basically, I ended up going into this Deli after school every day. I would say, "yeah, i'm just grabbing it myself" as I handed up the wrapper. I'd grab two or three, and one always won. This lasted for about a fortnight. Those days after year 9 were very cool.

My wife is a comp champion, seriously. I used to take the piss out of her for doing all those competitions, whether it's a coupon in the papers or online. But I've changed my tune lately. Some of the prizes she won over the years are Lenovo laptop, Nintendo Wii, Panasonic microwave, 2 digital cameras [Canon which shat itself after 3 months and the other Olympus, one of those water-proof things which we still have 2 years on], $900 Betts voucher [that's a lot of shoes] and 10 front row tickets to the Wiggles concert in Perth. And a lot more little bits and pieces, bottles of wine, iTunes gift cards etc.
Not to mention that we haven't bought movie tickets for a long time now, since a double pass for some flick comes in regularly at least once a month.

Won a Fridge / Freezer that looks like a big Jim Beam Can at a comp at the local bottleshop, the bloke behind the counter told me to enter as the comp was ending soon and no-one had entered yet. Not sure if that counts as winning????

Have won 5th division lotto a couple times, $14 and $20 i think. Never won any raffles or competitions. Some of us just have shit luck

Have relatives who won a couple hundred grand i think in lotto, they bought a holiday house on the Murray and a speedboat. My high school maths teacher was one of the most successful contestants on Sale of the Century, collected about 60k and various prizes. My auntie was on The Price Is Right and won some air cooler.

Ive won $1,200 in a footy tipping comp and won a 2010 signed (whole team) Port Adelaide guernsey (The V Away strip) in a Farmers Union facebook promotion.
