How do we attract the talent we need and what do we need to pay to attract it.
Having Rough helps and so to does having the strategy that that brings, but being an attractive destination is a big part of the conundrum.
Dingley and being successful remains substantive issues.
What Tyler says is another important part. Being prepared to offload some midfield and small forward talent has definitely come into the discussion and strategising.
That is all I am prepared to say at this juncture.

I'm not surprised about this comment as it's no secret we have a logjam in the midfield in particular.
Realistically we will have a pick anywhere from 3-10 before bids, and a future first lower than that. Baz, if it gets done, will take at least one of those.

We might not have a bevy of picks but we do have some quality young players that might be stuck playing at BH. Not because they're cr@p but because they're stuck behind others that play the same position. Quality trade bait is the term.

Caleb Daniel starting the season in the VFL is the rumour.

He has great footskills, Daniel, but no penetration which is an issue with how we want to play. Amon and Mass can kick over/through the press which allows us to attack with intent. Daniel will kick through it with precision every time but it doesn't get them goal side and still allows for the Dogs opposition to set up for the incoming forward entry. The dogs were bottom 4 for moving the ball from D50 to F50 last year so need to change something.

Feel like we’ve been hearing about this “war chest” every year since Buddy left.
It's paramount that we make a jump similar to like the Crows did last year. This will show quality free agents + oppo players that we're ready to take the next step towards being a top 8 threat. I'm just glad the club hasn't blown this so called war chest on anyone like the * did with Shiel and others.

If we are near the bottom again, we could put a massive front loaded contract to say Ugle Hagen and walk him through the pre season draft.

We will start to see where the future is heading with so many young guys in the team, on so little money due to 'draftee' contracts, and some of the war chest will get eaten up as they come out of contract, some will hopefully go to a deserving player coming into the team.
I hate it that it's already made airwaves. Player managers will just be adding 100k/yr to any negotiations for players wanting to come to us.
I guess it can work both ways too by inflating opposition contract negotiations for their players.
