"Pick 1, St Kilda"

"Player number eat-a-dick-Hawks-we-****in-flogged-ya, Darcy Fogarty"

*rapturous applause*

Wouldn't it be great if Hawthorn finished last.

And we used their pick to get the best kid in the land.

A kid who would lead us to 5 flags while winning 5 Norm Smiths and 5 Brownlows.

A kid who went on to become the biggest legend the game has ever seen.

And that kid's name was...

... Glen Ferry-Hawke

Writing was on the wall for Hawks. For Titch it was always about the money, JOM also the same way but a huge case of the FIGJAMs there.

Lose two premiership heroes who, along with most other senior players, would've taken pay cuts to gets those premierships and suddenly the fabric of your club is damaged for good. That's without mentioning those who were shopped around unsuccessfully.

They've done well over the past decade, but this is the beginning of a very painful era for them. We should be thankful for we have Sav, Blake, Dunstan, Battle, Long and whoever we get for the probable top 5 pick, we will be the biggest benefactors of their fall.

IF? It's only April mate. There's no IF about it. This will be up to about 200 come off season.
So to summarise the last 54 pages... last November, you probably figured you'd get pick 11 or 12 (and secretly hoped it would be pick 8 or 9)

Then during the pre-season matches, you started to believe pick 8 or 9 was possible (but hoped you get 5 or 6)

Then after round 1 and 2 defeats, pick 5 seemed a distinct possibility with the more optimistic people suggesting maybe a top 3 pick

And once it became obvious the Hawks were scheissenhausen, all the talk has been about pick 1 and who you should take? Key position player or best midfielder?

A couple of Hawthorn supporting friends have now decided they now "like" the Box Hill Hawks.

Oh its beautiful - so after 4 weeks of failure they now need to go searching for success any success any where.

Confirms everything I've said to them over the last 10 years - as far as supporters go they are soft frontrunners with no real commitment.

I mean, yeah, if you want to try and sum up an extensive and complex piece of art into a few paragraphs, then yes thatis the "summary" of this thread. But honestly you're missing the details. You didn't even touch on the token Josh Kelly mention in a St Kilda BigFooty thread about draft picks. Or about how Bains is a champ, or Rors nostrodamus-like prediction of Jaeger's future issues with contact injuries with the patella tendon. I mean, it's been one hell of a ride.
