What the hell are Hawthorn doing? Eade is clearly the next best candidate and now it looks like the Dogs have got him. They've now probably lost out on the best candidates and look set to pick up Ayres, who was a champion, but dont think he is the right man. Its like their process is luring in the people already coaching (Matthews and Pagan) rather than the candidates that are available.
If they cant get Eade, McDonald is the man!

The Hawks are taking their time because they have until the end of the season to make an announcement.

It is out of Harvey, Ayres and O'Donnell

Ayres is probably the best pick from here on in. He did alot of good things at Adelaide and could do similar at Hawthorn.

hey hawkers. how about giving spud a go.
rather not, but would take him over Ayres ... we are in serious trouble, lets go with someone new or lets take Judge back.

yeah trade away our top 2 picks and get duds in return, no thanks.

Peter Rohde walked into a doomed to fail position if Terry Wallace is to be believed. Despite his record, Rohde showed a bit. Hawthorn could do worse than to appoint him. With a full coaching and football department in place, he could do well. He's made his mistakes. More important, he is prepared to have a go, unlike the comfort lovers O'Donnell and Harvey.
