Tricky swirling wind out there, tough day for precision kicking, there is a lot of bulldust posted on here re perfect conditions by posters who watched the game on TV and had know idea on the conditions
19 goals kicked between both sides with the Hawks getting two gifts in the goal square
I know there will be dissapointment over the loss but grab a life ,jumping on the back of someone who bleeds purple and puts his physical health on the line every time he crosses the white line is poor form:thumbsdown:

And I expect those trolls to be quite rightly carded. New to BF are you?
Newly signed but been reading posts for years before signing. Glad most Freo supporters aren"t like you, otherwise I wouldn't"t have read to many posts over the years cause most posters would have been carded.

You are a w***er. And you probably won't get that either.

We lost a GF yesterday. It hurts. We are discussing Ballaz in here on our boards. You wanna discuss then do it. Anything else is just trolling

The team that was the best all year won the flag.

We had an amazing, character defining year with the performances we pulled off with strong injuries. We started looking REALLY solid towards the end of the year; but incredibly, it's still not enough.

Even with earning a home prelim, we need to truly be the best team all year. I don't care if we finish top 2 next year and **** up the first prelim, win the semi and win an away prelim. As long as we are truly the best next year we've got it.

I'd say this year we were indeed a Top 4 side and fought hard for our GF spot; but it would be hard to differentiate us between any team in the Top 4 (Sydney at full-strength, Geelong and Hawks on even form). Next year we'll need to truly be a cut above the rest the entire year; there must truly be no doubt. It will be us going into the GF wearing our home colours this time.

I admit, I didn't watch the game yesterday because I was dragged out of the house by my family. I was following it on my AFL app, however, and I am as Devo as all of you.

People who are quick to rake Ballas over the coals must remember that he is one of the main reasons we made Top 4 this year. He plays for the jumper, and doesn't deserve to be vilified for one bad performance even if we're all hurting. The only people who have any right to pull him up on him are his teammates out on that field yesterday.

Which GF did Stokes not perform in. Perhaps 2009?

Stokes carried an injury into the 2008 GF and was smashed by Hodge who won the NS.

He withdrew himself for the 2009 prelim team due to injury and didn't win his spot back for the GF. In many ways he redeemed himself in the eyes of Geelong supporters for this selfless act.

Steve Johnson also had a shocking 2009 GF due to injury but as others have said, you never remember the ones that play badly in a win.

If you guys had have kicked straighter the talk would have been about Roughead going missing in a big game and Mitchell being unable to break the tag.

Can't believe this thread is still open
Get off Balla's case, anybody would think he missed the penalty kick in a WCF,

He's an integral part of the Freo machine and anybody who thinks otherwise is a twat
We had many players below par yesterday, and as much as it hurts, they'll be the better for it

It's not Freo to open this page on BF and see this thread, get rid of it

Agreed! Ballas run himself to the ground every game and contributed greatly to get us where we are. So he had a bad day, and it suxs that it had to be on grand final day, he is still an important member of our team.

not many of his team mates has the rights to cast stones at him as well

It's called Karma, trade him before he's worthless.

The bloke is a dead set tool & doesn't deserve be apart of Freo's first premiership next season, the club must make a stand & not tolerate characters like his in the team going forward.

lol bahahahhahahahahah

i guess we will see what kind of bloke he is next season, lets hope he can pull himself back and play with even more fury and hunger.

he wasn't at his best on Saturday but gave himself plenty of opportunity which is all you can ask of your small forwards, pity he missed his shots.

Gee, we have some classy fans. Already posts and threads about trading/delisting Ballantyne, Barlow and even Fyfe. Even if it was the right time and place, I would have expected several other names to come up before these three.

Sorry to invade guys but I want to put my 2 cents worth in on Ballantyne. Was a bad bad day from him and came very unexpectedly to me. He couldn't kick straight and played selfish footy.

I hope that he got an absolute roast from his team mates and coaching staff post match and that the loss and the way he played so selfishly rots away at him until he can play in a premiership
