Just got a few questions on a yr 11 prac exam that are supposed to be easy but im a bit of a **** at maths, so help a friend out :), explanations on how to do them would be appreciated. Cheers

A clockwise rotation of 250 degrees will give the same result as an anti clockwise rotation of
a - 70
b - 110
c - 130
d - 250
e - 360

A polyhedra with 15 faces and 37 edges has how many vertices?

Draw a circle and clearly indicate a major arc and a minor sector

find the arc length in a circle of radius 18cm with a central angle of 82 degrees

An arc of length 31.6 cm is part of the circumference of a circle with a diameter of 42 cm. the angle, to the nearest degree, formed by the arc at the centre of the circle is...

a - 23 degrees
b - 43
c - 64
d - 86
e - 132

Thanks alot

Are you telling me that you do not know the answer to this?

If you can't work this out in year 11 the last thing you need is for other people to be doing your homework...

Hard when i dunno how :)

See this?

Get used to it.

FFS, substract 250 from 360 you ****. Seriously, it is embarrassing that you need to ask these questions.
Go to your teacher and get them explained, just getting the answers isn't going to help.

The second one is obviously using Euler's forumla which is ****ing ridiculously simple.
Vertices = Edges - Faces + 2, surely you can work it out from there.

Major and minor arc is cringeworthy. Split the circle into two arcs (use google if you failed grade 3 and don't know what an arc is), make one arc larger than the other, e.g. 49% of the circle and 51%.
Trying working out which one is major and which is minor from there...

The arc length = measure of central angle in radians x radius length.

Let
s = arc length

θ = measure of central angle in radians, and
r = radius,

then, the arc length formula has the general form:

s = θr

If θ is in degrees, then s = θ/360 x 2pir

I don't know the formula to the last one, but it is surely in your text book or found easily enough on google.

Time to grow up now champ, even McDonald's requires basic math skills.

Ease up everyone..... maths just might not be his thing.

For all we know, he could be killing his other subjects.

I would be more concerned with his lack of willingness to learn. He seems too content with letting everyone else work it out for him.

My younger brother is in year 12 and he is a bit of a spud at maths, but he at least has a tutor (his request) and does a couple of hours of maths specific study a week.

Study hard and if it doesn't work out, consider doing the lowest level of maths.

If your lowly work ethic isn't going to make a change for the better any time soon, you may as well go and do an apprenticeship or go to TAFE.

Yeah I'm sure it is just his lack of maths skill, I'm sure he is killing everything else.

I actually am good at other subjects believe it or not, and im not going on with maths next year its the only reason i cant really be bothered learning much, ive just been an absolute spud at maths since i can remember i was actually just looking on the net for somehwere that could help but copuldnt find anything, thought id come on here and some of you folks could help me out on how to do it, obviously not

And anyway stuff maths, Richos retired, time to mourn

Doesn't know his majors from his minors.... hope he's not intending to become a gynacologist.

I'm guessing the reason he posted this is to get you w***ers frothing at the mouth about how intelligent you are because you can do yr 11/12 maths problens and how much better than him you are because he can't.

Yeah, after opening this thread, I'm trying to work out which is sadder... The fact this kid is asking other people to do his homework or the posters that couldn't wait to impress everyone else with their knowledge of year 12 maths under the guise that they can't believe how stupid he is.
