Hodge vs. Judd

I would argue that Hodge is the best in the comp at the minute. Contentious i know.

On current form I don't think it's particularly contentious at all. Obviously he has some catching up to do runs on the board wise, but he's given Hawks fans every reason to believe the bloke who selected 2005's number 1 draft pick did a bang up job.

If I had to take one into the Cats' fold right now to aid in the task of winning the 2008 premiership, it'd be Hodge. But if it were for the remainder of their career, I'd take Judd.

For Hodge to overtake Judd in terms of career output, he would need to string a few 22 + game seasons together without succumbing to soft tissue injuries hear and there like he has a tendency to do, and he would have to be a central figure in a Hawthorn premiership. If Judd gets back to even 90% of his best however, Hodge will never overtake him.

Hodge 'roughs' it in economy with the team. A true leader who would give a lung to a teammate if it would mean a GF victory.

judd didn't even want to be captain of Carlton, so it's foolish to say he's a better leader. Hodge is the premier player in the comp at the moment. Still not getting any votes in the media awards though. Don't know why.
