You are no good, 14 touches to 3quarter time 1 has gone to a Geelong player and 5 has resulted in shots at goal for adelaide.

Totally agree. Lots of poor performers tonight but how this guy repeatedly gets in this champion team is hard to understand. Usually with talented young players, there are glimpses of promising play, but I really haven't seen any all year. My only explanation is that they are trying to increase his end-of-year trade value.

I havn't seen the improvement I was looking for this year yet. He's been lucky being the late change in twice of late. Maybe time to drop him to the two's and see if he finds some form.

Not up to it, though I think has been known for a while, he'll get the odd game but is about 28 on list and sadly for him probably slipping down the order.

His career has stagnated, he should have come on more then what it has.
Will be dropped and would need to improve considerably before I would play him again. A liability at the moment.

Reckon people need to cool their jets a little. He looks bad in a very good team. Yes, he was average tonight and has been in most games, but give the guy some time. No point writing him off just yet.

Yep! Overrated. Problem is there isn't a lot to choose from in the twos either due to form or not being ready. I feel for DJ who just doesn't get a reasonable go and appears to have lost confidence.

Hogan wasn't great but I don't know why he gets the heat from us fans instead of a guy like Byrnes who has many more years experience and continues to put in shocking performances in tight/big games

And don't bring up any of his little cameo efforts. We all know he outran Spud Clarke in the GF. I mean can anyone name me a big game that Byrnes played well in for The Entire Match ??

Agree. Just not ####en up to it and had more than enough chances. Can piss off to the VFL and hopefully be delisted or traded.

I actually think he only looks bad when he's attempting things he's not (yet?) capable of. And that happens a little too often for my liking. Needs to play his role and nothing more. For the most part, his fundamentals are sound.

I have always said I felt DJ should get a go, does little wrong in the twos and just lacks opportunity.

Hogan is playing badly, and clearly seems to be suffering from decision making deficiencies, but I wouldn't be trading him yet, I still remember how good he was in several games last year, and he may well still make it.

People need to stop the hysteria too...when we're talking about our kids/depth players, you should expect some deficiencies, that's why they are depth players, not Selwood et al.

It looks like the selections panel are showing faith in him the same way they showed faith in Travis Varcoe. Even on Trav's bad games he still showed a lot of potential. Hogan is just a dud in comparison.

Hogan just doesn't have the body strength to impose himself in a game. too short. doesn't use his pace. no good atm. needs to be dropped i reckon.

Like playing football.

He has no talent for the game I can see , he is an athlete with elite endurance etc , not strong enough to be an inside player and as an outside player he has a woeful kicking style that is almost guaranteed to be fragile under pressure.

Every game we play him is game thats not given to Duncan or Menzel or whoever. The day is coming where the some of the freeloaders that have enjoyed the ride will have to pull the wagon themselves. Does anyone really see him as a possible future replacement for any of our top draw players?

I think people are being overly harsh. Last year he and Gillies were our future and now he is having a down year and everyone is on his case. It's fair enough that he shouldn't be in our best 22 at the moment, but that doesn't mean he won't become a good player later. It took the core of our squad 5 - 7 years for everyone to play to their potential. Not everyone is a gun from day one, and some people have bad years (Ling, Kelly anyone?). He's not going to be in our side for finals so I don't see what the huge problem is with giving him games now while we sit on top of the ladder (atleast until the saints overtake us this week).

Everyone we draft is our future , kids that are put on our Rookie list are our future ... till they are cut. Hogan was drafted in 2006 , for a running player that is long enough to push his way into the side if he is good enough. I'd put money on Duncan being a bit further along after 4 years on the list . He has flaws in his game and I doubt time will fix them.

Im not going to rip into the kid, but he just isnt ready for senior football.

Last night should be his last senior game for the year, hes had a decent taste of it, go back to the VFL, work on your game and maybe next year you can have a crack. Just out of his depth ATM

I actually thought I saw him go into heavy situations quite a few times and win the ball and then look up and see NO support from his team-mates. Tackle and turn-over result. But could you blame him as he did the right thing in the first place??
