Instead of complaining about the Hawks game not being at the Gabba, the Lions should have publicly embraced the chance to play in front of their Melbourne supporters.

The way they did it was almost an afterthought, complain first & then say oh well at least the southern cousins get to see something.

I know they had very valid reasons for complaining but a bit of PR savvy would have gone a long way here. Publicly back the game & complain in private afterwoods!

From an on-field perspective, they should be happy to play in Melbourne, against a team who has beaten them in their last two encounters.

There's no reason for the Lions not to take this game seriously. And they should be glad of the opportunity (considering circumstances of recent years).

Shouldn't you be happy that they are playing another game in Melbourne and not complain about the way it was handled by the PRC? Not only do you get to see the boys play, you get to see them FOR FREE. (providing you're a member of course)
I agree that it's a great opportunity for the team to play in Melbourne, it's great for the boys to get more "Melbourne experience", it's definatley going to come in handy when we play in the GF this year.

Just out of curiosity, how much is a Lions membership for a Melbourne supporter?

FunkyBlue,

I am from Brisbane.

I just think every bit of PF savvy is needed to encourage the Melbourne supporter base!

Funny you assumed I was a Melbournite!

cheers

Sorry ITB..... it was wrong of me to assume that you were from Melbourne. If I'd lost $250.000 I certainly wouldn't be too concerned about being "savvy". I know they have an obligation to the supporters in Vic, but I think generally they (the supporters) would also be more concerned about the finacial losses of the club.... and not too concerned that the first thing out of their mouth wasn't "oh joy, we get to play another game in Melbourne"

FunkyBlue, instead of complaining about people complaining just get on and talk some footy with the rest of us!
