Science/Environment How Does Daylight Saving Work on the NSW/QLD Border?

It wouldn't be any different than the time differences that always exist at the Vic/SA border, or SA/WA border.

Except that there is a time difference between SA and WA/Victoria all year round.

DLS introduces a time difference into the NSW/Qld border that is not otherwise there.

If you live close to the SA/Vic border (let's face it, there isn't exactly a major population centre at the SA/WA border) you would always have it in the back of your mind that if you are crossing the border the time zone changes so you will gain/lose half an hour depending which way you are going.

If you live in Qld you might have kids in school from 8am there and work from 9am in NSW. DLS means you have kids in school at 8am and work effectively at 8am across the border. Etc.

It's a pain in the arse for those that live there, but definitely a first World problem.

It suck’s living right on this border. Last two years with border closures off and on i didnt cross as much. But life back to normal so meh, one side of street 10am other side 9am

Do you work or kids go to school in NSW? I would have thought living in Currumbin you wouldn't be affected by it too much unless you have one of those 2 situations. I've lived in Qld and worked in NSW and just adjusted (no kids school to worry about) and lived in Kingscliff and worked there and never bothered me that I recall. (*checks earlier posts for contradicting myself... nup all good>.
