First of all, congratulations cats fans, you truly demolished the insipid power yesterday and showed why exactly you were the top team of 2007.
But tell me, what is that feeling of euphoria like? There was no ppoint asking any of the last few premiers.... West Coast? Pah - 12 years a premiership drought is not. Sydney - They don't have as hardcore fans.... Essendon, Collingwood, Kangaroos? Ha, don't make me laugh.
Your team on the other hand has gone 44 years without premiserhip success, i can understand the heartache - most of you never having won a flag in your entire life and now that is over - I can relate to that. 23 years of mediocrity and nothing to show for it. We haven't hurt as much as you guys (1997 the only grand final we've lost since I've been alive) but it still hurts year after year to fail the way we do.
So since I've realised that it could be a long time before I ever experience this feeling - indeed I may not ever feel it - someone describe the feeling to me. What exactly is it like to end a 44 year drought and take the cup home? To be in front when that final siren rings? Can it be compared to anything?
*sigh*
Once again, congratulations and for God's sake savour every moment because its been a bloody long time coming! Cheers
