Sad thing is even with all there cheating and the six million dollar man they still cant make finals.

How expensive are draft picks these days? Only one draft pick for an extra million in the cap? Cheap Swanny. Of course Carlton officials would get defensive over this topic because they know they've cheated for the best part of two decades.

With the extra million in the salary cap they could of afforded to put ALL of judd's Money though carlton and not half carlton/half visy:thumbsu:

you people really are wet behind the ears.....it's been going on for years. a couple of callers to 3aw this week have confirmed that North players are getting paid by companies to do nothing....plus remember Hird the stockbroker??

another thread started by an agry anti carlton supporter, keep it up, seems to be the most popular club to support.

Unstable, your more than welcome to come and support us, given your keen interest and the fact that your rubbish club has no money or supporters.

As for the token geelong supporter, well how things have changed. I used to think that hawthorn supporters had become the most arrogant posters, mainly because collingwood supporters can only access computers in their recess.

You have only won one premiership in the last lifetime, and while you will win another that takes you to a whopping three all time, brisbane did that in a row, so back in your box.

OMG! Now i have heard it all!

delusional Swann said:
: "I'd be happy to swap one of our early draft picks for the extra million dollars a year he gets in the salary cap," Swann said yesterday.

Is this guy for real? They should give about 3 of their picks back for rorting the system and bringing the integrity of the competition into dispute!

I wonder who is going to get the next gig as Carlton President??

Rodney Adler has been out for a while, I am sure that you could fit him on the board for the time being until Pratt gets caught again...

It is the natural instinct of Carlton to spend a shipload of money in the dodgiest fashion possible - Swann is just absorbing that culture.

Oh dear, now 3 of our current players were gained by rorting the system and the AFL have approved half of Judd's salary to be paid by Visy. Naturally none of you drama queens will even go close to backing those statements up.

Look, we accept you are turning every single Carlton thread into a Bay 13 thread full of over excitable pulp. We accept that it is barely worth responding to such posts as nobody wants to debate facts in regards to Carlton.

We will start a discussion thread on the Blues board where those who are aggrieved and want to have their say without chucking a hissy fit, can have their say and get reasoned responses back.

To the 'angry without a cause' brigade who have no way of backing up their contentions .... carry on.

Of course they are. It is the BigFooty culture. Make an allegation without any proof & then the 'vultures' come from all directions. Some clubs hide behind injunctions, others have a horde of players who have been on the wrong side of the law, there is a club with a president who was found guilty of being involved in issuing a misleading prospectus. You could spend hours identifying the negatives at every club, but it is so much easier for the hypocrites to go for broke at our club. Let them. If it makes them feel better. Just shows that they lead relatively miserable lives if they need to post this sort of rubbish to feel better about themselves.

Rather ironic.

As for Swann, maybe he should STFU and let the football do the talking?

Carlton's actions in the past 18 months have done more to ensure cap concessions remain or are strengthened than anything else that's happened in the past 5 years.

Rather ironic.
How is it ironic? Read the thread, take a look at some of the over the top claims. The same old accusations come out time and time again, and they don't have any basis in fact. Nobody at Carlton can say anything about anything because we cheated/tanked/price fixed blah blah blah.

A discussion thread without cheap shots that are not backed up surely wouldn't offend anybody would it? I realise it excludes a few who can't help themselves but it also shows them up. I mean, why would anybody who genuine cared about these issues, post about them here, on their own boards, on Bay 13, but ignore the Carlton board where cheap shots either way will be dealt with? Perhaps because cheap shots and lack of evidence is all they have to offer?

As for Swann, maybe he should STFU and let the football do the talking?
Yet when Roos yesterday has a shot at Carlton, he is right on. When Carlton respond, they should shut up and worry about football. Hypocrisy much?

18 months? Or 11 months since Judd came on board? Or just a couple of months since the AFL ticked off the Visy role? Or are you saying the mere involvement of Dick Pratt has ensured concessions remain?

What exactly are you saying here JD and what is your basis for saying it?

Are you suggesting the AFL wanted to get rid of the concessions but Carlton have ruined that? If so, why did the AFL give the Visy deal a tick? Seems odd to blame Carlton for something when they have followed the rules to the letter and not done anything that the AFL said they shouldn't do.

Then not so odd considering the source of the blame I guess.

Maybe:

" The Carlton FC have no official comment in reply to the statement attributed to Paul Roos yesterday. Other than to say we are happy with the progress made this season, and congratulate Sydney Swans on yet another outstanding result their 6th consecutive final series! Carlton FC we will be making our every best endeavour to reach the final series in 2009"

Nah Nah:eek:

Rather:

Weeeew'll doze Swans are dirty rotten cheats anyhoo!, but come to fink about it Carlton FC would sell our draft pick rights to em for a millyun bucks!

Tell me how what Swann said was any worse than what Roosy said?

No of course, we should roll over every time someone pots us. It's just lovable larrikin Roosy for crying out loud. We all smile and go 'awwww' when he cheekily fires a broadside at another club. These clubs with no sense of humour look completely unprofessional when they try to act like Roosy don't they?

What is funny is that yesterday Roosy was telling it like it is (hooray for Roosy). Today Swann is a hypocrite having a sook.

Naturally it has nothing to do with any of the team's involved.

So don't respond.

I'm surprised it's taken you so long for you to work that one out.

Sounds to me someone's taking a shot at this board's mods too.

I say again, don't respond.

FWIW, I think you should be directing this post to your fellow Carlton mod. The 'what about your club' replies do nothing but encourage more trolling.

As for posting on the Carlton board, why would I? Even when I contribute to the discussion, every Carlton poster is given license to troll and take personal shots at anyone that doesn't have 'Carlton' under their username. Christ I get trolled on your board even when I don't post there. TBH I'm quite surprised you're inviting opposition supporters onto you board.

Yet when Roos yesterday has a shot at Carlton, he is right on. When Carlton respond, they should shut up and worry about football. Hypocrisy much?
Excuse me? Talk about putting words into my mouth.

I'm getting of sick of clubs taking pot shots at one another. Carlton seem to making an art form of it.

One of the things I like most about our new admin and coach is that we now don't. I know our CEO was taken to task for his tunnelling comments earlier in the year. Roos has runs on the board - we don't - so STFU.

18 months? Or 11 months since Judd came on board? Or just a couple of months since the AFL ticked off the Visy role? Or are you saying the mere involvement of Dick Pratt has ensured concessions remain?

Jesus man, you really do try and dumb down the level of debate (rather ironic given your rants).

I said 18 months because that's approximately the timeframe when negotiations were started with Judd. 18, 17, 15 . . . whatever . . . I was simply refering to the event that started the ball rolling in getting one of the league's most decorated players to jump ship to return 'home'.

The reason for the cap concessions is to prevent the go home factor and when the best player in the comp, a club captian, brownlow medalists & premiership player jumps ship, it strengthens the argument.

Then not so odd considering the source of the blame I guess.

You are a complete and utter hypocrite. Troll.

I love the fear, panic and jelousy that our return as a powerhouse is creating. The excuses and criticism are fantastic !

We lost it for a few years but its on the way back and we love it. Keep the crap coming we love it and love other teams talking about us rather than their own which says alot !

So don't respond.

I'm surprised it's taken you so long for you to work that one out.
That would be convenient considering you are a regular pot shot taker. Let us have our fun and don't hold us accountable. Of course.

Sounds to me someone's taking a shot at this board's mods too.
Majority rules. If they removed all of this stuff, there would be little left. It is the responsibility of the posters to regulate their posting according to the board they are on. Sounds to me like you were trying to stir something up just now ...... ?

I say again, don't respond.
I have no problem responding and pointing out the flaws in arguments.

FWIW, I think you should be directing this post to your fellow Carlton mod. The 'what about your club' replies do nothing but encourage more trolling.
I'll give you the tip. We have stayed away from such threads, nothing changed. We have debated such threads, nothing changed. We have reasoned in such threads, nothing changed. If MS does not post, the same stuff is brought up. If you think that drawing analogies encourages trolling, you are dead wrong.

Certainly, if the topic is Carlton and someone in discussing Carlton draws an analogy about St Kilda, it is considered taking it off topic as those fans will get defensive about St Kilda being discussed when the thread is supposed to be having a shot at Carlton. A moderator wanting to draw an analogy to highlight where another poster is being hypocritical, has no opportunity to do so.

Certainly starting or participating in a St Kilda potting thread, would be looked upon as trolling more certainly than drawing analogies while defending your own club in a Carlton potting thread.

The threads are working well actually JD. Some opposition supporters are participating, and have toned down from their main board rhetoric in doing so. You are also getting more honest debate from Carlton supporters as they are not fighting a tide of ignorance and ill will. The rules of these discussion threads also state that Carlton supporters can not tell opposition supporters posting constructively in these threads where to get off or they will be dealt with.

What is there to be afraid of?

Excuse me? Talk about putting words into my mouth.

I'm getting of sick of clubs taking pot shots at one another. Carlton seem to making an art form of it.
Rubbish, we do it no more than many other teams and most times we are responding to someone who potted us first. We are showing some spine for once.

One of the things I like most about our new admin and coach is that we now don't. I know our CEO was taken to task for his tunnelling comments earlier in the year. Roos has runs on the board - we don't - so STFU.
I hate this thinking. Roos has won a flag so he can bag us all we like while we smile and roll over.

Jesus man, you really do try and dumb down the level of debate (rather ironic given your rants).
Jesus man, you really do come out with some vague statements that force others to seek clarification.

I said 18 months because that's approximately the timeframe when negotiations were started with Judd. 18, 17, 15 . . . whatever . . . I was simply refering to the event that started the ball rolling in getting one of the league's most decorated players to jump ship to return 'home'.

Oh I see. So we really shouldn't have approached a player that wanted to come home anyway because now we have strengthened the argument for concessions?

So if Collingwood or Melbourne or Essendon got Judd, then they would be to blame? Should all Victorian clubs make a pact not to bid for any player from an interstate club? Would they all be held to account for that pact, or just Carlton?

Last time I checked, there was no such concession for the Eagles and they have their share of WA boys wanting to return to WA at some point.

You are a complete and utter hypocrite. Troll.
As long as you can say it, but lack the ability to back it up, then it is water off a duck's back.

Paul Roos was spot on I reckon. It is unbelievable the amont of media orgasming that is going on over Carlton's 'powerhouse' 11th placed line up. And yet all Sydney get for their 6th straight finals series is a bunch of people bagging them and saying they are going down the shitter. I don't know if it's the Victorian media or what but at the end of the day Carlton achieved nothing more than they did in 2004 before their back to back spoons. Paul Roos is spot on, they've done nothing to deserve the ridiculous praise that's heaped upon them.

I love the fear, panic and jelousy that our return as a powerhouse is creating. The excuses and criticism are fantastic !
When did this happen? Certainly isn't this year, as you missed the finals (again).
