Koch is no expert on football related matters but I back KT to make the right calls. If he thinks this is the right move then I'll back him until it's proven otherwise.

KT extending Hinkley's contract this off season so that he doesn't leave for the Gold Coast would be the point where you're proven otherwise, i'd imagine.

We could be, but at this point we have plenty of known facts to base our position on.

The players aren't buying in like they did in 2013/14. They don't believe in what the coach is doing.
The gameplan has a few significant holes, most noteably our horrendous forward 50 efficiency, which have not been addressed in Ken's 5 years as coach.
We haven't beaten a team that could be described as quality and in form in quite a long time.

At this point, we need a change. We can't guarantee that a new coach will be our next premiership coach, but we're now at the point where that seems more likely than Ken Hinkley being our next premiership coach.

I do not believe that either Koch or KT are morons who have no idea and are just re -signing him because he gets a few cheers at the Port club on a thursday night. They would have thought this through from all angles. Their positions are on the line as much as anyone's.

I can only imagine how we'll look back over these years and ponder what could have been if our talent had only lived up to the hype. Something needs to change over the off season, but seeing as we've signed all our players, and soon to be coach, it looks like it'll be the same shit, different season.

This year has just felt like 'meh' the whole time. I don't know what it is, but that excitement from going to the game just wasn't there. And I'm sure I'm not the only one, judging by the dwindling crowd figures over the year. 41k to a do or die final isn't acceptable. AO should be packed. That alone should be a sign to the board that the fans aren't happy with what's being dished up.

This. We had at least 11 more opportunities to score that the Eagles. Any one of our 10 points goes through, we win. Any of the shots that missed the lot cross the line, we win. I'm not sure the tactics are the issue, but skills, in particular our kicking, need to improve.

All good, but you said Ken's game plan was going to win us a premiership this season. I am not sure you have a lot of credibility at the moment. I hate to be right under these conditions, but the "pessimists" that could've have scripted Saturday's game and result were right. And you were wrong.

Agreed but the bolded part has been a festering issue for far too long. Therefore the entire coaching/development team must be heavily scrutinised and there must be changes. The lack of skills has rightly been hammered on B/F forever and arguably creates even more angst and frustrations with members than perhaps anything else.
