According to Burns after the game he said,Quote "Pendlebury should be right for next week and Rocca is a week to week proposition".

Pendlebury will be back this week, burns said after the game he was surprised he didnt play as he trained strongly, very much a precaution.

Rocca trained all week, and would of played if the game was dry id imagine, he will be fit and ready for you guys.

So you can go home and start worrying;)

Well Mick said after the game that Rocca definitely won't play and that he is not sure about Pendlebury either.

Apparently Pendleberry did a hamstring according to one of his mates on this board, so it would appear that he is no chance .
Rocca, who knows?????

What is Wrong with Pendles? and MM can play Funny Buggers;)

I didnt hear that, on MMM

Personally I wouldn't expect either to play. Call me mad but I consider this a good thing.

Unlike some other teams *shifty eyes* MM doesn't seem to rush players back from injury.

I would rather see both take the time needed to recover, in order to ensure that the chance of reinjuring themselves when they return was minimal.

On pendles... hammy... Sorry Didaka.... :( :( :(

I suspect that Pendles had "soreness" and was rested. Remember, he played in the dream game when everyone else had the week off.

I equally suspect that Rocca has achillies problems. We may not see much of him.

Young gun Scott Pendlebury was the club's other late withdrawal from Monday's win over Melbourne, with the midfielder missing with back soreness.

"We didn't think he'd get through the game," Malthouse said, adding that he "doesn't know" if the 20-year-old will be available for next Sunday's showdown with the Blues.

Micks not giving anything away at this stage.

If Pendles' had some back soreness that was causing tightness in his hamstring, then that is a different thing altogether from an actual hamstring injury.

Sounds to me that there is no hamstring injury as such, and as long as his back is right then no reason he wouldn't play this week.

"We didn't think he'd get through the game,"

Reading between the lines, that mean he could've played, but we thought we could win without him.....mission accomplished.

If it is only a back related hammy like Dawesy said, he should be ready to go with all the treatment they get these days.

Hope so.

All this is pure speculation - and I'm worried that 'back soreness' is sometimes used as a euphemism for 'hamstring tear/strain' (as is 'ankle' for 'achilles').

Maybe Joe-time can get us the good oil from Pendles' mates in Sale - definitely on the mark yesterday. What about it Joe?

Taken from Micks email to members.

As for Scott we’ll have to weigh
up and work out if he’s available to play this week. If he’s not, then
we’ll have to take a look at the side, and think seriously about the
weather, and if Ben Reid comes in, whether we play Jack Anthony again, so
if we need to bring someone in the inclusion will come from those types
of players.

Looks like Reid and Anthony may be in contention this week which is good.

Reid might be a bit wobbly, but Anthony would be so hungry he'd be ravenous.

Saw Pendles at MCG on Monday. Didn't appear to have mobility problems.
