I wear a hat at the gym, usually a plain black Kangol baseball cap. It keeps the bright lights out of my eyes, all gyms seem to have floodlights, gives me a headache. I'm a flog, duly noted!

Christ, it wouldn't even piss me off as much if they wore them appropriately. Fedora's were never cool on their own, they went with a particular style of fashion, not your baggy jeans t-shirt and waist-coat.

I just find the big headphones to be real "look at me" and unnecessarily large. You can't put them neatly in your pocket either when you're not listening to the music either, which is an awkward drawback for me.

They generally have better sound quality at a cheaper price. I got a solid pair at k-mart for $10. I vary between the two depending on my mood and if I have a bag on me I tend to take the overhead headphones. Don't really care for the way they look but it isn't enough of an issue for me to go without music.
