Haven't they fast tracked the process to become a police officer in most states? Surely they could do the same for nurses who specialise in covid patients?
There is a big difference in the training requirements for a rookie Police Officer and an ICU nurse. For starters ICU nurses are near the top of their career and rookie Police Officers are at the bottom of their's.

How do people feel about a 3rd "like totally not compulsory" jab?
For me that's a no deal, I've spun the cylinder twice with my jabs, I'm happy to take my chances with covid after that.

Correct. Yet the terms and conditions of a rookie police officer are generally better.:(

The efficaciousness of jabs is at its highest for 3 months after the second jab as I understand it, then depletes over time to about 30%. I'm cool about a booster providing the Hollow Man doesn't stuff that up and I have a choice of a vaccine.

Hopefully, over time and with more research the vaccines will be fully efficacious for longer and boosters won't be needed.

Yep agree. I’ve done my bit as a healthy 26 year old by getting the two jabs. Boosters can be optional for those who want it, maybe mandatory for those over a certain age range or vulnerability.

Didn’t Dan recently mention booster passports lol?

Dunno if it just me but is it morally wrong recruiting nurses from overseas? Surely they need them where they came from. It's our problem if we are not prepared or overwhelmed and I hope it is all above board and others OS are not suffering from this move. I assume all health systems are under the pump. Anyone know more about it to put my mind at ease?
Plenty of British, South African, American and European nurses used to come here on working holidays. Likewise our medical people would go OS for the same reason, including my niece who spent a few years working in London while touring around.
Not so much touring these days but still opportunities to see/work in another country. Their countries - and ours - can always deny exit/entry visas. I don’t see a problem.

2 day short course for first aid training, send me in boss.

Anywhere but Victoria. Why would anyone stay here if we receive anything less than what NSW have announced on December 1st? 50k have already left, thousands slated to leave even with these heavy border restrictions, people want out. I've already had 3 friends move to QLD and one to WA.
So you've had 3 mates leave, now another 1,999,997 will follow suit?

I’d rather a head appearing above the parapet with intention to defend than those who choose to leave us in the
mire…
Ruffslo…
Please shutter your opinions about mental health…

People usually need jobs and houses to move somewhere (as most people have dependants).

Where are the "millions" of jobs outside of Vic for these people?

What will happen to property prices in NSW and Qld if millions rock up to their auctions?

What kind of shithole will you be buying given your Vic house will be impossible to sell?

Wfh will be the biggest factor on migration within Australia imo, not baby eating communist ************ dictator dan.

That said, how good will our state be if all the anti vaxxers and me-me-me flogs fu** off?

If you aren't allowed to earn a wage because you aren't vaccinated, what job do you have?

Reports already coming out that NSW property market is going to crash soon, no better time to find yourself a lovely home for a few bob.

And nobody will want to live in a communist shithole, even if you are vaxed, how can you run a business under such tight restrictions with say roughly 20-30% less business? Pack up shop and move over the border, it's not like there hasn't been plenty of businesses go under already.

Victoria will soon be the arsehole of Australia, it's already becoming more and more like the leftist shitholes like Cali/New York where thousands are fleeing.
