Surely I can't be the only one who's not that impressed by Lara Bingle? Don't get me wrong, she's a nice looking girl, but she doesn't really do anything for me. I suppose that makes me either naive or a liar though, right?

As for the thread topic itself, when I was in high school (obviously, before I turned 18) I dated a some girls who were a couple of years younger than me (they were 15-16 when I was 17), and I also dated some that were older too (I was 15-16, they were 17-18). When people are high school age (particularly later high school), unless it's like a Year 8 dating a Year 12, it's not that much of a difference maturity-wise, so a 1-2 year difference at that age is alright. Once you're all above 18, there's nothing technically wrong with it (as it's all legal, etc.), so it's really up to people's personal preference for what they want in another person. It's not a general rule, but as someone who's nearly 22, I find some 18-19 year olds (both female and male) still have a bit of the air-headed highschooler about them, which makes them a bit unappealing. I don't really have any opportunity to associate with many people under 18 these days, and I don't think I'd feel comfortable dating someone who was 17 (even if it is legal in SA), as they'd probably still be in high school, and dealing with everything that comes with being a teenager in high school, which is something I finished and a part of my life I moved on from back in 2005. It's amazing how much you grow, mature and change as a person in those few years after high school, and how much 'older' you feel than even 18-19 year olds you see around when you're out, so I can't imagine how awkward I'd feel dating a 16-17 year old at my age. Obviously that isn't an issue with everyone, but it's something to consider. That being said, when a girl is between 18-23, sometimes it's hard to tell exactly how old they are until they tell you, as there are some girls in that age group who aren't totally ditzy.

I guess I'm in the minority. I've always had a pretty even split of male and female friends and enjoy spending time with both.

I'm also with Damon. Lara Bingle is certainly good looking but a bit overrated I think. I also get strange looks when I say I'm not a big fan of Angelina Jolie. Meh, I'm weird

Halle and Bingle are ok, but overrated. As for Jolie - uggh. With those lips it's like looking at a female Mick Jagger. Give me Jessica Alba or Eliza Dushku any day of the week

Yeah I don't get the whole "You can't have female friends unless you're ****ing them" theory. A couple of my closest friends are female and it's not because I want to sleep with them, I have my girlfriend for that.
