Hurn vs O'Brien

Davis has been brilliant this year. That would be a better poll TBH, Davis is closer to Hurn in both role and ability than Harry O is. If people have been paying attention to Collingwood games this year a Hurn v Davis poll would be much closer than this one, I'm not sure who I'd pick there TBH.

Then again, distributer probably thinks that Tyson Goldsack is better than Hurn, so maybe we should try that poll.

Heath Shaw certainly is.

Hurn is an elite kick, a reasonable reader of the play and is average every where else.

O'Brien is an elite defender with the ability to play on talls and smalls, he has toe for someone his size and his kicking is good imo. Hates to loose a contest.

Being BOG for Eagles is one thing, being BOG for Collingwood is something completly different i'm sure you'd agree.

Can't really say I do. Being BOG among 44 players is a massive effort, something O'Brien will never achieve. Good one on one defender, good pace but that's pretty much it. Suspect disposal.

Arguably, although I can recall Harry being right up there a few times. Harry is the better defender though, which is his job. And he is a massive factor in our premiership year, you'd be stupid to suggest otherwise. Consistently beat fantastic players. Hasn't been as good this year due to his change of role.

I don't think anyone's suggesting O'Brien is no good, merely that his game probably isn't as 'complete' as Hurn's. Wonderful 1-on-1 and great pace to break lines but seems to have iffy disposal, just seems to kick and hope a lot of the time. That's all well and good when you have Cloke marking everything put if he has a patch where he's down in form, that sort of play will see the ball come back straight over his head.

How's hurns game more complete?, apart from kicking hary has him covered in every aspect of the game IMO.
