He's no good, heard a rumour about him going into his exit meeting and giving horse a serve, which obviously spectacularly backfired as no one would touch him
I know someone very close to Xavier, and that story sounds like rubbish. Xavier took a punt on getting a better contract, as the Swans were squeezed for cash due to Buddy and Tippett. He was on the same money as Alex Johnson, who had not played since 2012.

Xavier got a contract, an MBA being paid for and a job - through his new club.

Fair enough, as I said only a rumour. Did seem to be abit of animosity in that relationship though

as I said, bit of animosity reported between him and Tom as well, and yet Tom seems ok does he not? Pay attention to the narrative of anyone who is on the outer with the Swans, its all about how they are terrible

As far as "hypothetical" trades go what do people think about this
Hawks out Breust and next years 2nd rounder to Dogs
Hawks in Stringer and Dogs 1st rounder this year?
Stringer has apparently meet with the Hawks (I read that on another thread)
thoughts.

No. Stringer was sacked by the bulldogs without the coach even talking to him. Imagine the kind of negative impact you must have in order for that to happen. You don't give up valuable players and picks for a player like that. The risk is too great. He isn't worth more that a second round pick.

Intercept superstar.

If we can spend $1M on that long haired potato Vickery we can certainly wash the Melbourne stink off Watts and rehabilitate him.

I've got a soft spot for Watts.
I think in a stronger system with more support he would be a solid player. Not a number 1 pick player.... but an above average foot soldier that can have some X factor to his game

Stringer is a better more impactful player than Breust plus has a huge upside but the question mark isn't anything to scoff at.
Also, if we're contemplating stringer, then we have the cash to facilitate the move, if we don't, well, we STILL have the cash to splash elsewhere.

Yeah there’s a bunch of players who Melbourne ruined over the last 10 years. Watts was the first, but guys like Toumpas, Trengove, Grimes would all have been at least serviceable in a stronger system. Every time some nuffy on here starts talking about players having too much power, I think about the fact that so much of their careers are dependent on who they’re drafted by and the club’s competence at the time.

There was an article on The Age a while back talking about Selwood and wondering if he’d have been the same player if he’d gone to Melbourne instead of the Cats.

No one wanted Dusty a year or two ago outside of Richmond and BigFooty was littered with reasons why he was a sh1t bloke and bad for whichever club wanted him. Stringer may be no different. Id kill for Dusty and id certainly want Stringer here, he can do what Dustys doing now.

I don't think Stringer's the type of player you take on during a re-build. You build the foundation/put all the big pieces of puzzle together first; establishing a strong culture, then potentially take on a risk.

I think you're right. Losing hodge is a big step backwards that can't be avoided - but intentionally bringing someone in thats been pushed out of a club due to off field stuff is something we can avoid.

Hell even when we were the bench mark for club culture and success we couldn't bring Dayle Garlett around, only so much magic dust to go around.

Is he really more impactful than breust. Or are u forecasting because if ure talking about their current status. Breust would be more valuable

Ex partner has spilt the beans in the Herald Sun - gambling and family issues as I said.
My question remains, because there is other stuff floating about.

Yeah I've heard the rumours. Nobody could be 100% that another person isn't into drugs unless they follow them around. He might be but know people at the Dogs and the gambling / family stuff is what is considered to be the problem. Plus he's just a general ****wit of a bloke as that article suggest. Not really footy relevant though. Some of the greatest players of all time were ****wits

Passing out in hotel Lobby's with a couple of hookers also wasn't very well received by Bevo. Went absolutely ape-shit!
