Oh so much this. There a raft of reasons I despise having to go to a shopping centre but this is front and centre. It's like when you come up behind a group of slow walkers who spread four abreast across the footpath in the city, causing you to take your life in your hands by stepping out onto the road to get around them. I have considered the barge through on many occasions but as George so correctly put it " we are living in a society here!!"

solution is to stop and just stand in front of them and they have to walk around you....and then continue on your way. There are alternate strategies...

Take out your phone and just stare at it and walk straight ahead..... the seas will part
Look at something on the other side of the road and continue to walk straight ahead..... the seas will part
If there is an attractive girl in the four, then look at her breasts and lick your lips....the seas will part

At the very least if people want to carry on about the same crap consolidate the threads. Surely if you're sooking about the same thing every day you probably have the 50,000 other threads on the same topic bookmarked already, no need to make your own.

There are many threads already on the board on Beams and this topic.
Use the 'search' in the top right hand corner if you feel the need to rehash

we should be able to go to a location on BF where there is a list of suitable thread titles and within them, a list of suitable posts. We could then cut and paste these and use them for posting in the collingwood forum. It would make the forum easier to read and more structured...

I think the board might be in need of a clean up. It's getting a little messy with multiple individual trade option threads, roast threads, etc. I'll have a chat with the other mods and see about taking a broom to them and maybe merging a few.

Appreciate the idea but that means a lot of admin . Current structure is fine. People are eager to make a point. Great, we got our Welcome to Collingwood <player_x> , match preview, match reviews , player reviews, list and draft changes and anything else that comes to mind. Especially on the outcome of the "Steak Knives" deal which has been discussed to death halfway through the season and that is WITHOUT Greenwood. When he plays AFL, I expect another flare up on that topic though.

I could get guys like you to post what you think that I'm thinking ....which could mean that I'd have more time to do other things like clean my pet rock collection....and it would end up with more sensible posts in the forum

I've always thought that thread creation should be restricted to trusted long term forum thinkers like yourself, rather than allowing the mish mash of thoughts like we currently have. This would allow the forum to highlight the important issues of the day.

I'd probably allow a restriction on the number of posts that members could make to the threads too. Trusted people like yourself could post as they wish but new comers would be allowed one or two posts to a thread. This would restrict the amount of dribble in the forum.

Mods could also be given the power to stamp certain posts as noteworthy and the writer would be given more rights.

Finally, I think we need an equivalent of "employee of the month" where mods would post photos of the most interesting members of the forum on top of the board with suitable fireworks etc surrounding the pic....
