Roast IF it isn't biased or ncompetent..... THEN it must be inciteful media coverage part II

I'm sure there was a very small minority booing the player but the vast majority of people? No.

Honestly, whenever I hear comments like that I silently thank them because they've just made it abundantly clear that they're a bit irrational and most likely a moron and I didn't even have to waste 5 seconds on them to work it out...

They love every chance they have to stick the boots in. Doesn’t matter that they know they are completely wrong. Don’t tell me Duffield actually thinks the crowd was booing an injured player.

That's the problem though isn't it.

If it's reported on enough (WC fans are terrible), even if it's not true, will eventually become the truth to the casual fan (which is all I can say Duffield is :D ).

Hence why I hate bias in the media.

Mark Duffield - very disappointing, I was booing because of the free kick and felt that Yeo had his legs taken out from him (could have broken his leg etc) - nothing to do with the injury... I assume Duffield was at the game? Have I got it wrong?

Thumbs down - "The West Coast booers: Simple message for Eagles fans. Don’t boo injured players when they are being assisted off the field. It’s a really bad look and it is really bad for your club’s reputation. Taylor Adams was genuinely dazed in a completely accidental collision with Elliot Yeo. Please understand how tough the players are and show some appreciation."

How can someone have written about footy for so long and completely misunderstand what is going on? Almost as if he's being deliberately obtuse in order to keep pushing his agenda...

I was more annoyed at people booing Mihocek for time wasting when Cole fell on his leg in a marking contest. Pretty obvious he was actually hurt.

Not sure if anyone has seen this or it has been mentioned before, so apologies if it has.

ony Jones says it was a “great pity” Collingwood lost on Saturday night.

And it’s not because he’s a Magpie fan.

The Channel 9 sports host said it meant West Coast was now “very well-placed” to make the grand final.

And he says that’s not good news for anybody wanting a contest in the decider.

“I think it would be a wasted spot in the grand final,” TJ said on 3AW Mornings.

“They can’t perform at the MCG.

“We’ve seen it before, in very recent times.”

Did we not win both our games at the G this year? Also one v 3rd placed Collingwood....

Haven't lost a game in Melb this year. Everyone in the Vic media and VFL have written us off. Good I say. Will make it sweeter if we go over there and stick it up the lot of em.

Well Tony makes a good point...if we want a real contest we should not give tenants their home ground in the GF.

Getting that leg up and then complaining about an away teams potential to struggle against the best side in the league on their home turf in the decider. Well that takes a certain kind of genius.

Sometimes a week is a long time in footy, other times three years is very recent. These very recent times were when Fremantle finished on top of the ladder Tony.

I was told if we wanted to be respected we had to beat teams in big games like Collingwood at the G. We did that, and we got kudos for a week.... and then radio silence.

That's fine, a non Victorian team always has to travel through the MCG to win, so they don't usually get rated a genuine chance basically until they win one.

No chance, except for the fact that we beat the Pies there by a bigger margin than we did at home, with our most influential player being badly injured half way through. No chance, despite the fact we gave the Tigers a good old flogging earlier this year.

Yep, Tony Jones is 100% right.

Someone post the Bec Judd vid for more lols

So mad about this, got a run on 7 news last night as well. No mention of the crowd anywhere for the silence and empathy with Varcoe before the game (As good as the Phil Walsh tribute). Certainly no mention from Duffield. Someone's pissed them off.

Do they not go to the ground? Do they not see the replays we see in their press box with their free food and drinks and 20 replay screens? Its the same thing that happened with Gaff when the crowd didn't get the replay, with the booing of Goodes when he pushed McKenzie in the back to get a cheap over the back goal. But bugger that if you have an agenda. We're a boorish, thuggish racist crowd apparently.

Duffield or the others don't like booing, tough luck. Booing the umpires is part of the footy experience, the only comeback we have. Like BALL, great fun and the more noise the better.

I've been looking for a way to contact Duffield, but the West wont let anyone comment there. Stuff 'em, take a long time to get over "Weak Coast Eagles"

You could tweet him but he doesn't seem to use Twitter much, and doesn't interact at all.

Would all this have anything to do with the game being aired on the standard def channel?
I mean it is a qualifying final!!

Would take a second to mention that what's on the big screen at the ground doesn't match the telecast. Doesn't fit the media agenda to let the issue die like that.

And not a single mention of the moment of silence for Maggie Varcoe. 60K people as a quiet as a church mouse yet we are all mouth breathing campaigners (and the Varcoe goal was cheered). **** the media and their bullshit. Deliberately manufacturing a false narrative is fake news. The West is fake news.

Meh Tony Jones regulary gets made fun of by the other half Witts on the Sunday footy show. This bloke has no spine or self respect and we shouldn’t give a toss about his opinion.
