Taking a kid from a 75 peak to a 92 peak is an achievement in a number of weeks. Bont was not a strong or muscly fella before he entered that program.

But sure, you know better than a lecturer of exercise physiology at deakin.

So 70kg to 80kg is now 75kg to 92kg? Wow, the details are changing rapidly between your posts! Also, could you be any more ambiguous? "A number of weeks" could mean anything. Also, no one in the fitness industry would say "peak", they would say "max". It's pretty apparent that your tale is absolute rubbish.

Bont wasn't a "muscly fella" when he arrived at the Bulldogs either. Actually he seemed to put on the entirety of his current bulk during the offseason between 2014-2015. Before that he appeared very scrawny and weak. Obviously our conditioning staff did a much better job than your friend.

Surely you're taking the piss? Most basic strength training programs will allow you to improve your bench by 10kg in 2-3 weeks when it's at novice levels, which 70kg is.

70kg is a poor bench press for a post-pubescent male. You know what else is? 80kg.
Haha if you can only press 80kg/176lb your a weak male

Haha, you're having a fair crack at trying to know what you're talking about. I'll give you that.

75 was what he could do as a max for the normal amount of reps when he got there and 92 was the max with a couple reps when he left. I think generally you're judged on what you could do 8 reps of and I think that was mid 80s. So he improved significantly.

I will disagree with you though. He added a lot of strength with my
mate and other staff working with him which helped him to impress in Vic metro, and that in the end lead to him bolting in the draft somewhat.

You can ask him yourself if you're not busy down at Arden street. All these 'stringer is cooked', 'Boyd can't mark', 'trade for nahas' quotes have me suss on your allegiance.

Bont was deceptively strong despite his build from before he was drafted.

Back onto Marcus Adams though. You think the body type of a 193cm, 98kg guy has nothing to do with his foot issues. That's ok. I think you're wrong though. That's too heavy.

Especially when we have 194cm, 88kg Joel Hamling running around the whole year in his spot playing his exact role issue free.

To me, next year, I'd prefer to see Adams out there than hamling. I think he's a better footballer.

See how I stuck to actually discussing the topic there?

That's what bont was before he played at northern knights. A weak skinny teenager. His first season at the dogs when he was extracting it from packs we weren't making that observation.
My point was 80kg for the average male is a respectable bench press

These last few posts are too heavy for me.

What the hell and I reading..

Youre reading jdz101 pretending that he knows more than our conditioning staff and claiming that Marcus Adams' injuries are a direct result of his physique. He is also claiming to have “friends” who are experts in the field in a feeble attempt to validate his ridiculous assertions.

Sorry mate I could have laid MY OPINION with basis in fact out clearer to you but I was too busy giggling at that mirror selfie..I know that shirt was from an op-shop but I still think you should return it.

Wow, you're really going to take a dig at me about my appearance? I didnt expect that even you would go that low. Even more gutless considering you didnt post your own photo but happy to take shots at those who did.

Stay classy, bud.

I'm with Scragga here. If you look at his injuries, all are a direct result of incidents'. Thumb injury certainly not a result of how much he weighs, foot injury very similar to Toby McLean, rolling an ankle not a weight issue, shoulder op just a clean out end of season surgery.

He has been much heavier before and played out full seasons.

Also taking a dig at someone's appearance is very low around here. Be better than that.

I've deleted my posts that i believe were pointless. I don't believe our fitness team and spending in that area is up to AFL standard.

Its an opinion. I'll leave it at that.

Perhaps scrag will structure his arguments in a way that he rubs off as more having a discussion with people instead of constantly taking potshots at them. He doesn't seem to like it when potshots are fired back at him.

There was never any mention of actual physical appearance either.

Partial tears are actually harder to rehab than full tears I believe. They reported it was torn partially off the bone, so not just a typical strain.
I can't believe it was close to off the bone

He was running run throughs after the injury trying to get back on

Surely an injury that severe would've been picked up immediately like JJs, who needed trainers to carry him off the field

JJ had a full tear. Makes a fair difference if it is partially attached or not at all. His run through were low intensity, that would have given them an the knowledge to rule him out for rest of the game. They may not have known how bad until scans tho.
