He's definitely one player that I don't care if he loses a lot of money, so long as he doesn't go under the knife and doesn't miss more than 4-6 weeks I will keep him and start Devon for a while. He played all of last year when his shoulder popped out twice. He's a must have and would be trading him back in at some point anyway if the injury is not season ending.

James - it's good to see that your DT priority has changed to your leagues, and not a high ranking.

Why do you say that? Robinson the obvious sideways trade this week (if Fyfe is gone for the season) but might play defensive fwd on Fletcher again this week and score a 60. As much as I love him as a player, I'm also not sold on whether Robinson can average 95+ for the year, same goes for Whitecross. At least with Fyfe you know he is good for 95+ minimum.

But if Fyfe is gone for the season, I may still wait a week or two and bring in ROK after he plays 3 games (price should drop significantly next week, due to slow start) he's been a proven gun for me over the last 2 years. Or maybe Cloke maybe even a Dusty after their prices plummet a bit more. Fyfe won't lose any more money not playing. So might be a smart long term move (re: overall finish) to wait a week or two and make 40-50k on the trade for a player that I'm more confident in than a Robbo (or Whitecross) instead of paying 10k in overs for one week. I haven't started Devon this year, but he's scoring nearly as well as Dusty Martin so far as well as a few other so called premo forwards.

I didn't see the game, what happened to Mitchell?

According to hawk fans tweaked his knee 30 seconds from the end of the game.

Hawthorn will want to beat westcoast and i reckon they will want all of Mitchell, Birchall, Rioli, Breust to play even if they are 80% and Franklin and Roughy (hopefully get off tribunal cases).

Anyone seen anything definate about birchall? Ive seen everything from a slight knock to his quad to bad knee injury reported but nothing from any decent sources.
Lots of carnage early this year by the look of it, makes the game very interesting!

From the footage it looked like a heavy knock to the knee, I am guessing some heavy bruising? It did not look like a soft tissue injury.

Hopefully he can get up for this weekend.

From what I saw it looked like the knee went sideways under contact from an opponent, so I suspect it is a PCL injury. Obviously until scans are done, the full extent of the damage wont be known. Could just be minor bruising, could be a 6-8 week injury.

Pretty angry with Lake getting a week wouldve tonned up pretty easily against melbourne now i just need Hargrave to hold his spot and i guess Birchall needs to play otherwise K.Hunt is required.

Copping a very unlucky/shocking run so far.

I feel a lot better about trading Lake out (for Goddard) after Rd1 now, especially with Goodes also suspended and Fyfe injured this week.

Dodged a bullet with Buddy not being rubbed out or I would have been been faced with the prospect of starting all 4 of Kennedy, Devon, Hampton & Couch in my forwards if I don't trade.

Apparently Ross Lyon was on 6PR and said the club thinks that Fyfe is okay and may even play this weekend.

I hope this is true, I just gleaned this from the fremantle board.

Some whispers on the Hawthorn board suggest that Birchall only suffered a corky.

I hope there is some substance to this as I have both players.

It would have to be next week if you want to downgrade to Longer, would that be a bit too early to trade Stephenson or Redden as they will still be making money?

Yeah but they've already made money and Longer gives the opportunity to make more.
Its always good to have 2 playing rucks on the bench as well.
Trouble is that Longer shares a bye with Giles and Cox.

Longer has only played 1 game though. He won't make you any money if you bring him in this week, while Redden & Big O have B/E's of -17 & -36 both should make another 20-30k this week. If you're going to trade out one of them for Longer at least do it when he's on the bubble FFS.
