Yeah, I'm looking forward to the experts AKA "the club can do no wrong" brigade sugar-coat this absolute debacle.

disshouldbegud
Thanks for the rant that has stuff all to do with what I asked.

Cloke is our most important player by far and should be treated as such i,e, make him sit out one game if he is in any danger of aggravating the injury.
And no, you don't leave such decisions up to valuable players like him.
This isn't the first time in the last couple of years the Club came across looking rather amateur when dealing with this matters and no amount of passionate walls of texts will change that.

But you didn't ask anything and there be it the problem. Just another provocative post again implying that the club is useless and further mismanagement. It's amazing how all the knockers come out of the closet with the benefit of hindsight.

But like TRS says - If he passes a fitness test and says that he's right to go what can you do? Just speculate and say no we think you better sit this one out. Lots of clubs have mentioned that individual players know there bodies better than most. Loads of players have and are still playing each week with niggles and are not 100% fit.

Footy Classified just said Cloke had a test on the calf two hours before the game.

In post game thread I noticed that "the" calf he "did" had tape around it before the game.

Coincidence or negligence????? I'll leave that to the experts.
Coincidence -It would have been Negligent NOT to test the calf

If a senior player passes a fitness test and says he's right to go, then he plays. Happens the whole way through the AFL all the way down to local leagues.

Pretty simple stuff really..

Provocative post???
Time and time again in the last couple of years our Club has made questionable decisions when dealing with injury prevention and you would like me to talk about sunshine and lollipops and our bright future in an injury thread???
And by the way hindsight is just about the only weaponry us posters have when dealing with such matters , the Club must be few steps ahead of that....

I'll repeat, this decision shouldn't have been up to Trav and we don't know for a fact if it was in any case, just using it as a convenient excuse.
No matter which way you or anyone else spins it this decision either didn't prevent us missing our most important player for at least a month or contributed to it.

You obviously didn't watch Bucks on AFL 360, he had a bit of back tightness pre game which he has had for years and it has never caused a soft tissue injury.. never, not even once

So unless you are condemning our people for not being psychic I just don't get what all the drama is about

Come on now PieBeast, that is just plainly ridiculous.

He has soreness (which is being denied anyway but let's accept he did) and he gets tested and it seems ok, he says he's fine to play, but after all that the club should over rule that and just not play him anyway???

There is seriously not one club in the competition who would do that. Not one.

Mate you could be right about any other club but ours had a very good/bad recent precedent dealing with calves of late and should have been far more cautious, especially when it came to Clokey.
All I'm saying.

Interestingly enough, the posters on who are actually in the health proffession seem to have no issue with the way that the clubs medical staff handled Cloke. What qualifications do you have that make you think they're wrong?

lulz, I have a semblance of a brain and have opinions on some matters.

Hopefully that qualifies me for posting on a discussion forum, if it's alright with you.
You on the the other hand are quite welcome to agree with everything the Club does and stop enlightening us with your pearls of wisdom from now on:)

Ah I see. You have nothing but your own uneducated opinion. Thanks for clearing that up.

Keep posting though Beast. It's always amusing to watch a numbnut like you act as if you're somehow smarter than everyone else.

I agree that it's getting very frustrating for all of us. The whole injury thing is totally doing my head in.

no offence Pie Beast, but where is your medical degree?

The good news for Clokey is that prosthetic legs are much better these days.
Do they come with sights? Could be the answer we've been looking for.

That's not a cannon :D
You know if you stopped replying to me you would have more time to alienate other posters.

Clokes very upbeat in that article - but than again he's getting paid a fortune to stand around on the footy field and do nothing or do the same now off field - why wouldn't he be happy!

S. Olsen some years back : he's not gay, neither he is a heterosexual.

T. Cloke 21/07/15 : The doc's reassured me that it is not the worst he’s seen and by far it’s not the best.

That's the worrying bit.
