Melbourne newspapers write news about football clubs located in Melbourne. How bizarre.
AFL 360, On The Couch, The Footy Show, The Sunday Footy Show, Talking Footy and The Front Bar are nationally televised shows that pretty much exclusively talk about 4 Melbourne based clubs (Geelong, Hawks, Collingwood and Carlton). Footy Classified had 19 hours worth of show last year and had something like 6 minutes of worthwhile Eagles talks for that entire time, which is beyond absurd.

Throw in "journalists" (pundits) like Robert Walls, Garry Lyon, Kevin Bartlett, Mathew Lloyd and Robbo who have been brutal in their overt bias against WC (and Fremantle tbh) and it's starts to paint a damning picture of a Vic old boys club. When folk like Garry Lyon and Dermott Brereton can build a media career potting Nic Natanui and Josh Kennedy for close on half a decade and never get called out about it (throw in a bit of veiled racism in the description of NN as "exotic" to go along with it) it's no wonder we sit back pretty ******* miffed at the state of the "AFL" media.

Every club should be up in arms about it, it's actually damaging to the health of the game. Ratings are down everywhere, no ones watching the games on TV because of petty narrow mindedness, extreme hyperbole, an objective Victorian bias, fabricated or misrepresented statements and the antagonism with which they are operating in a game that is one of the few CULTURAL icons of this country that is ours, regardless of ethnicity et al

These shows may go out to the nation but they are all created with a Victorian audience in mind. Don't blame Victoria for the fact that WA is incapable of creating its own content. It's all about selling newspapers my friend and the reality is that the majority are not particularly interested in WC. This match is all about Collingwood. Even those neutrals supporting WC are more accurately described as people hoping for a Collingwood loss.

We pay for Fox, we want decent journalism, not drummed up biased rubbish that is screened to a national audience.

Vics can do whatever the * they want with the papers.

And you guys wonder why we think Victorians are a bunch of self absorbed arsehats

I was going to try to explain what’s wrong with your post but concluded you’d be too stupid to understand and decided not to bother

Actually, no one is blaming Victoria FFS. The world actually doesn’t revolve around Melbourne.

The problem and blame lay squarely at the feet of Ch7, FoxFooty, and the AFL. It is lazy and incompetent broadcasting with little to no respect for the national interest of the game.

Who cares, let them ignore us.

Why some crave the "spotlight" I will never understand.

Judges for the AA should be embarrassed of themselves & will lose some credibility if Hurn was holding the cup on GF day.:praying::praying::praying:
The whole panel should wiped out and start from scratch next year and have a representative from each State.
Geeez ....@#$%^* Buddy Franklin & Dangerfield as an AA captain. Neither never captained a team. Which Vic campaigners were in the panel again?

The All Australian selection panel is Gillon McLachlan (chairman), Kevin Bartlett, Luke Darcy, Danny Frawley, Steve Hocking, Glen Jakovich, Chris Johnson, Cameron Ling, Matthew Richardson and Warren Tredrea, while the All Australian selectors, along with Kevin Sheehan, also choose the winner of the NAB AFL Rising Star Award.

Too many Vic representatives. Darcy,Ling and Richardson are brown nosed campaigners. Never have any deep insights just scratch the surface (obvious) observation to justify their positions as media personalities.
Bartlett & Frawley say no more...:)

The damning thing of all that to me is, Why are Steve Hocking and Gillon McLachlan on a panel for selecting the AA. They are in charge of running the business and operations of the game, not to interfere with awards. There's your answer as to why Buddy got captain.

Yep corporate flogs.

But its ok. Hurn is the people's captain.

Don't worry about the Vic's on the panel its the bias from Channel 7 and Fox. If you're going media types why do they all feature from the same two tv stations, where's the radio representation? Where's the non-footballer journalist representation?
