So much for an indigenous team to beat the Irish .
Our biggest ever defeat and no reward for AA players . Thank god no Fremantle players got to go in that team even though M.Johston would have loved honour to represent Australia .
De meat rio what wonderful jester has made the AFL a laughing stock in Ireland .

I don't think we will ever not send All AA players to Ireland again just so we can get respectability back and not be a laughingstock .

It's insulting to the Irish more than anything. Bringing over a team representing the AFL that contained players who have never played an AFL game is absurd.

No club wants to risk their premier players, so realistically the series has to go. Was fun while it lasted.

The players and the Irish fans seem to get pretty into it.
Even when we sent our best teams, once the game started they always got right into it and showed plenty of pride.

This was insulting to the Irish players, fans and even the AFL players.
Its racist and discriminatory to send an indigenous only team.
Absolute joke, if the AFL wanted to kill this series they have achieved it.

It's the only international team where Australia doesn't supply it's best players to win. Making this team and representing your country needs to be an honour. If we as a sporting code cannot do this then the series has to go.

Maybe the best 2 players from the .bottom 10 teams. The teams that didn't make finals.
Eg ablett, reiwoldt, nicnat, j.Brown etc.
Would be a pretty good line up still and give the losers something to play for.

Except most players aren't interested in playing. They'd rather go on a holiday with friends after a long season, can you blame them? We've never played our best team and we probably never will, honestly though, who cares?

Without the biff, the games pretty boring. Needs more of this

Really? I thought the the Neanderthals had died out. Didn't realise they constitute a viable TV audience out there looking for something to watch.

The fact is this attitude and some of that display on the field is what started the demise of this concept in the first place.

Without the biff, the game itself isn't that entertaining. Tell me, what are some of your favorite memories of these games?

The joke's on anyone who takes that series seriously.

Yes exactly, I've copped it for saying it was nothing but a health hazard - it is. Just wait til someone pops a knee or rips their hammy badly etc. Wait for the criticism. Players risk too much money to play this.

Its a loony collection of rules governed made to make the Irish happy. Has no legitimate rules of representation eligibility therefore has no status or kudos. Nothing more than a scouting event really.

I am hoping this board can cultivate couldhavebeen into its very own jozeph

The tackling and ball carrying rules really hurt Australia while the scoring rules and ball movement skills really helped the Irish.

I really liked that we fielded a representative indigenous side, I am very happy that no Fremantle players had their AFLPA holiday time interrupted by it and none risked injury.

Lindsay Thomas should really have a four week suspension for that head high bump that resulted in the Irishman being driven off the ground.

Was at that Subi game (in 2005 I think). Absolute disgrace, may as well have been at a State of Origin after party in rural Queensland.

Sure, I get where you're coming from - I understand thuggery is entertainment for many. My point is that if it's only biff which is going to make it work/entertaining/memorable, then they shouldn't bother (and they clearly wouldn't either). There's already stuff out there for those interested in that sort of thing.
