Intra-Club this Saturday

Thought I'd mention something else that has been bugging me all weekend. Coad was is in the white team too. Seriously if it was a 'possibles' v 'probables' match with no Bock to take a defensive spot, how does Coad not get a spot on the 'probables'??
Me thinks some of the defensive specialists were put on the white team to hone their skills, otherwise McKenna has rocks in his head....

Next week will be an easy confidence builder for the Suns, however if their forward line only consists of non proven rookies like Dixon and Day and they are hoping a first year player like Matera can provide defensive pressure and get the ball off players twice as strong as him.... well the midfield is gonna have to kick a lot of running goals.... Carlton will win by 30+ in the first round, Matera and Day will have 2 touches combined..

Wish Izzy was playing next week on Hunt... That would have been a bit of fun to watch.

Hey guys just wondering how rohland ah chee is going?? did he play in the intra-club match? has he been training well? will he get a spot on the senior list? always like the way he plays really knows how to get the ball!

Cheers fellas

Yes that seemed strange but methinks your view that Coad and Hutchins were given the KPD spots on the white side to match up against the bigger better forwards on the red team in Dixon and Fraser. I've heard Bluey state that Hutchins will be our first choice at fullback. We could go with Bock and Coad in the regular season but it is important to get games into these young kids. Hutchins also looks bigger than Coad to me - he's a big 18 year old at 191cm and 92 kg whereas Coad is listed at 190cm and 86kg which is a tad small for fullback at AFL level. I think we'll be going Hutchins and Coad next week (providing Hutchins is fit). The red team also seemed to be without KPDs at times with just Brown, Krakouer, Toy and Hunt?
I also wondered what was going on when Sam Day, Steven May and Jeremy Taylor walked past. If they're supposed to be fit why weren't they playing? Rested for next week? Sam is big already. When he puts some more beef on over the next few years he's going to be a monster  Steven May is also a solid lad.
Another thing McKenna has repeatedly said over the pre-season is that Karmichael will play fullback at some stage. I hope that isn't the case as he'll be giving opposition full forwards quite a few inches, he's just too short to be a fullback in my eyes.

Roland played OK from what I saw - got a few crisp disposals around the packs. Seems to have muscled up a bit and wouldn't look out of place on the main list. I like him - seems to have a knack of finding the ball and has a bit of pace and bounce about his game. Bluey was giving him some instructions on the sidelines at one stage.

Players below for red (probables) and white (possibles) teams:

Red: Jarrod Harbrow; Alik Magin; K. Hunt; N. Krakouer; Josh Fraser; Trent McKenzie; Josh Toy; Daniel Harris; Charlie Dixon; David Swallow; Danny Stanley; Matt Shaw; Campbell Brown; Brandon Matera; Michael Rischtelli; Sam Iles; Harley Bennell; Seb Tape.

White: Marc Lock; Mav Weller; Luke Russell; Lewis Moss; Joey Daye; Tom Nicholls; Michael Coad; Roland Ah Chee; Taylor Hine; Jack Stanley; Rex Liddy; Jack Hutchins; Dion Prestia; Liam Patrick; Daniel Gorringe; Jacob Gilbee; Jake Crawford; Jeff White.

In this list......

Might have to look again. :p

He's in there, number 13.

I am getting old, and my eyesight is failing, but I still cannot see the name Jolly? But I may have missed ateam list elsewhere??

Apart from that, how is Hayden going?

Guys, those lists came off the top of my head after watching the intra-club. The club didn't provide a sheet list at the game for each side (they'll need to work on that for next time, but like I mentioned in another thread, we appear to have a tight off-field budget). I didn't notice Hayden last Saturday, I don't think he played. However, Rory Thompson didn't play last week either and he also got a gig for tomorrow night. I think Bluey's rotating the players to keep them fresh.

On Hayden, I'm very happy to see him listed to play. He looks the goods - solid build already and good disposal, so I'm going to be very interested to see how he goes. I rate him as one of our more promising kids amongst a heap of promising kids.
