Seen some differing opinions on this recently so I thought it would be interesting to do a poll. What do you think and why?

Currently sitting 16th (equal last) on the ladder with a record of 0-2 and a percentage of 68%. The Bombers rolled out the youngest list in the AFL in round one, but Brad Scott seems unwilling to label this a list rebuild despite the age demographic and having signed a contract extension himself earlier this year for "stability" reasons. They play Port Adelaide tomorrow night and you'd think an 0-3 start to the season will certainly set off some major alarm bells at Tullamarine.

Both seem to struggle finish building anything.
The problem is Essendon never commits to a proper rebuild.
We tinker with the list, cut a couple of oldies and duds and claim we have done a rebuild whilst at the same time handing out 5 and 6 year deals to underperforming mediocre players and looking at quick fixes and ways to cut the corner.
Now that the leech Dodoro is gone hopefully we see a change of thought.
We really should have traded out McGrath, Parish and Redman when we had a chance

Essendon always find themselves in a weird no mans land where they hang on to hack players on long deals who are getting them nowhere (See McGrath and most likely Draper this season) while at the same time fumbling decent draft picks.

Doesn’t rebuild imply that we previously built something in the not too distant past? We’re getting to Sagrada Familia levels now.

But on topic, we’re in a development phase, injuries have fast tracked some debuts which literally no Essendon supporter is unhappy about (the debuts not the injuries). Reasonable chance we see another 1-2 this week I for one am loving the enthusiasm and competitiveness our kids are bringing.

luckily for Essendon supporters the previous regime in control of said draft picks and contracts is no longer at the football club

Rebuilding yes but they are having a crack (most weeks)... no doubt they would love to get an upset in the next few weeks before the bye
I would LOVE if we could snag a scalp to properly prove to our supporters that we are on the right track.

Can see it now, IF we somehow beat Carlton, it'll be about how bad Carlton are and nothing to do with Essendon playing well enough. Ditto Dockers, Suns or Giants (at Marvel)

They’d be seeing themselves as heading upward, and still needing some time to consolidate

BS will be keen on some more time

Can't see us winning many more this year.

Maybe Richmond, maybe Carlton late. Maybe St Kilda?

Going to have another top five pick by the end of the season along with wherever Melbourne's ends up.

Looks like everyone has accepted they are, or need to be

General opinions are that dons aren’t on the way upward
