We are in massive massive trouble for a while.
and here you are trolling him back. You've been trolling for years - this is just par for the course.
Ed made a promise to Buckley when he was at Brisbane that if he comes to the pies he promises he will lift the cup as a premiership player. that time has come and gone but the promise remains. now Ed has given bucks the reins as head coach via a fast tracked apprenticeship and allowed him to have the players he wants and all the support staff have been hand picked by Bucks. now while i love how Ed has tried to keep his word it has been to the detriment of OUR club. it was worth giving bucks a go but like the rest of his fellow Brownlow medal mates (Voss and Hird) it hasnt worked. All of them where rushed through their apprenticeships and that turned out to be a complete failure for the other two and it simply hasnt worked for us. i love Bucks and always will but if we dont play finals this year he needs to be moved on. get someone in who is the best candidate for the job that has served a long apprenticeship and who hopefully has senior experience. who that is i dont know. but what i do know is that Bucks should never have got Robert Harvey on his coaching team. he would have to be the most boring bas*&%# ever plus the c*&^ is cursed. he was never destined to win a flag and sadly maybe bucks is too.![]()
and here you are trolling him back.Wot you think we're not in massive trouble at the moment??

Everyone is crapping on about Burns like they did when Bucks was going to take over. It's like lessons haven't been learnt. At the end of the day it's a simple question 76
Do you believe Tarks Rocca and Bucks are the best possible people for their roles we can get?
Well it's not exactly rising is it?My point is TG is the head of the 'chicken little brigade' - the sky is always falling.
Agreed re: president. . President is a volunteer role. and therefore given the time it consumes you have to be passionate about what you are doing. hence more often then not it is a supporter of the club.I think spelling is one of the 'deep seeded' issues around here...
But yes, should always be the best person for the job, not best Collingwood person. Although throwing in the president is a bit rich. How many clubs have a President with no affiliation to them?
And this here is exactly our problem everyone has an opinion including the club. we trained all pre-season. " sharanberg aside " and that included Swan / Elliott / Varcoe / Reid / Broomhead / Ramsay all 6 of our better ball users. and they have played a combined.. " I'm not counting swans 15 seconds " 5 games. you put those 6 in and take 6 of our worst ball users out. and it's probably close to a 60-80 point score turnaround. we most likely win Melbourne and st.Kilda game. sitting 3-1 and not having this conversation.Based purely on the threads started in the last couple of weeks, I think I have worked out what our issue is:
Buckley can't coach
We have no game plan
Our defenders are poorly skilled
We haven't sacked Buckley
We can't do kickouts
There is no belief
We only hire ex players
We need to bring back ex players
Pendles is not a good captian
We are not the Bulldogs
The supporters expect too much
Hine drafted poorly
We have no leadership
Jarrod Blair
We have a drug culture
We use a defensive zone
Our midfield setup is wrong
We have slow ball movement
We have slow players
Daveron
We don't have a ruck coach
We don't support Buckley enough
We support Buckley too much
We traded poorly
We can't develop players
It's Robbo's fault
Good point. The best way to rectify the issue would probably be to start an opinion thread that the club's biggest problem is there are too many opinion threads. And this here is exactly our problem everyone has an opinion including the club. we trained all pre-season. I look forward to the day when Maxy returns to the club. I dont know in what capacity, but not as a coach. He's on record as saying he's not interested in coaching, and we wouldn't want him chewed up and spat out, which is the coaches' destiny.
Its too soon, and he needs a longish period away from the club in order to continue to develop and gain some separation from the current regime. He could even be the instigator of a new regime. With his smarts, integrity, leadership, it wouldn't be a typical jobs for the boys appointment. We miss him badly.
Then again, maybe I have him on a pedestal, as the next saviour of our club.![]()

ahha perhaps a suggestion box outside the Westpac centreGood point. The best way to rectify the issue would probably be to start an opinion thread that the club's biggest problem is there are too many opinion threads.
Don't think this is a Collingwood thing. The world, sport in general and the AFL got corporatised. As that happened roles for the every day supporter i the club dried up and access became limited.Where is our soul? Is Gary Pert the devil incarnate? I don't really have much idea about the man, but somewhere in our corporate and financial expansion, the sponsors queuing up to sponsor us, and our newly renovated palatial headquarters, we have lost something really vital.
I am a supporter of most of what Ed and Pert have done, on the basis that it would make us a better club and team, and WIN FLAGS. But I just feel so empty and disappointed, after so many false starts of the last few years. I think I want to go away and hide and ponder on this 'soul' thing.
Times dates facts theyre all irrelevant. The moral of story is its Robert Harvey's faultHow was Ed in a position to make a promise like that 5 years before he was directly involved with the club?
200,000 years ago we were standing on the plains plotting our strategy for the passing herd, and when we came home to the cave that night without a kill the rumblings began. The Alpha males game plan wasn't working and he didn't seem to have a good rapport with the other hunters.Oooh I know!!.. in my opinion it's just so annoying when people post their opinions on the Bigfooty football discussion forums. Surely we can have discussions without people having opinions! Everyone's like look at me aren't I clever I've got an opinion and I'm such an arrogant Narcissist here I am shoving it down all your Bigfooty readers throats. This board would be so much better if everyone just said "I know nuffink".

We were all told we wanted big comfortable stadiums, no one wanted to stand in the weather, that 70000 at the MCG was infinitely better than 22300 at Vic Park.
We had to lose "soul". I miss it too.

It was knifing time in the middle of the night.
I know we are not going back but Vic Park from the late 60's onwards was an awesome place to watch footy for a young Collingwood supporter like myself. Don't think the MCG experience is infinitely better but it's different. The "soul" VP was talking about was infinitely more palpable at Vic Park when McKenna, the Richardsons, Tuddy, Thommo and Johnny Greening were doing their thing. But the MCG is infinitely better than Vic Park...
Vic Park is nice to go once in a while for a VFL match, but if we didn't have such a historical connection to it everyone would be calling it a dump in a shit location
and via that time honored, brutal and completely necessary process the tribe was able to gain a new competent leader who's tactical nous and caveman management enabled the hunt to gel and reap much meaty rewards. The tribe thought this much preferable to starvation.200,000 years ago we were standing on the plains plotting our strategy for the passing herd, and when we came home to the cave that night without a kill the rumblings began. If i believed we were going to win the flag, then and only then would I believe we are in massive trouble.
But I never expected to win the flag so no we are not in massive trouble.
