Its Time For Trigg To Resign.

We are hoping trigg will be resigned for another 30 years ;)

HAHAHAHA - as crap and inept as Trigg has been, he still leads a club that is far superior to your shit hole.

You have just had your best year in like 6 or 7 seasons and you still lost $400,000.

You use tarps, you can only sell half major sponsorship after going 3 without one. So, shut your trap Muppet.

This is not a Trigg issue. He acted in good faith based on public agreements and statements.

Of course it's his fault, he misread the backlash, the club didn't even ask one past player and he didn't get it in writing, nor did he tell Wicker we were going to sell it to members to name

Big difference between a "verbal" deal here, and the Tippett deal. Whicker came out and publicly announced his support for the guernsey. He made it clear to the entire nation that he supported it, and when he rescinded the deal he had to announce it.

This was not a legally binding contract. This was not us trying to rescind an illegal deal by word of mouth. The concept that nothing can ever be done verbally again, because the Tippett deal was done verbally, is absurd. The two situations are not even remotely related, and trying to relate them in a desperate attempt to add more fuel to the Trigg fire (as if you really need to) is kind of embarrassing.
So not getting it in writing what you can and can't do is okay? The SANFL has since stated there was no written agreement, don't you think having one would have eliminated that objection?

I don't think his position is as far as the eye can see at all. I trust that both he and the board will know when the right time is and hope they have a candidate in mind when the time comes and do everything they can to get that person on board. Id like to see someone external replace him.

I think it's extremely unfair to blame this on Trigg. Yesterday everyone was claiming it a great feat for Smart and that he was obviously going to take the mantle from Trigg. Now it's all gone pear shaped it's all of a sudden Triggs doing. They got all necessary approvals and the approval was rescinded after poor public opinion. Even Chapman said based on that poor opinion they would have reconsidered their stance this morning - so we may have even changed our mind in any case.

As for Trigg and his recent performances I can't see anything he's done that would bring his immediate future into question. That doesn't mean that will always be the case and I will certainly say something if I think he's crossed that line.

Jenny you really are one of the most loyal posters on here. I congratulate you for that.

I on the other hand think it's time for the Adelaide football club to change things up.

The clubs recent performance has been amateur at best, I'm not rehashing the last few years failures as we all know them ad infinitum .

It's time for a fresh face and a new voice. He's had nearly ten years. The club needs to bring in the broom and reinvigorate the club. I know Trigg is raring to go and full of beans and will work as hard as possible to cross all the T's and dot all the i's.The trouble is the message is just tired and no one new is listening.

Football clubs draft players all the time to replenish their stocks, add excitement to a new season. This is no different.
Making changes to the back room staff is admirable but they are not the face of the organisation.
How many mediocre, flawed or ill conceived PR failures or decisions are forgiven before changes are made.
Very few businesses would allow this sustained level of 'bad luck' to continue.

What will my words do... nothing... but this forum allows me to vent my frustration. I have kept my powder dry of late but surely this can't go on again and again.
Talk about giving a rival a free kick. In our case it's becoming the changing of the guard.

The Sanfl removed 2 of Ports CEOs for doing a crap job. Is this any different?

The difference is, a Trigg crapness isn't actually costing the SANFL any money. Once Mark Haysmen asked for money from the AFL and they then told the SANFL to pay up - he was a dead man walking.

That's the difference.

Agreed. You would think hed leave nothing to chance. He should have expected the pressure that ultimately came from where it did.
Given what he went through with Tippett-gate claiming to have rescinded a written contract verbally, you would have thought he had learnt to get everything important in writing. I have studied contract law & thought Triggy had too with an MBA. Was he asleep at the lecture, because he is asleep as CEO of AFC.

How many mistakes does it take before the Board realise you are not up to it...

Sure many business dealings/agreements are done over a coffee with buddies, but then put them in writing. It is basic business 101 - something we should expect our senior management to be doing all the time - without exception!

Yeah, Haysman was honest in reporting Port's financial situation was not as rosy as James has been lying about.

Triggy has been dishonest, but unlike the unfortunate Haysman, the club was in a great financial position when he took over.

What's your point?

Most agree Trigg is doing a crap job. The Crows by most measures have gone backwards under his reign, every Crows supporter I know wants him gone, His performance over the last couple of years has brought embarrassment, fines, loss of key staff and players and your club has reported financial losses. That's my point.

I agree.

This is a really good reason why members (or shareholders) should have a say in how and who run the club. Usually the CEO and board are way to close to the running if the club to see a change is needed. They either won't admit or or acknowledge that a fresh approach is needed.

I've said it many times and will say it again - Trigg will keep his job as CEO of the club whist he or the club are not asking the SANFL for any financial assistance. Unless members get a complete board vote, he's in the job for as far as they eye can see.

SANFL are (sadly) happy with his performance.

I agree, he should go. I disagree that we have gone backwards though. We are still far more financially viable then Port Adelaide and I still believe we have a better list than Port.
And if we have gone backwards financially in any way lately it will be offset by the move to Adelaide Oval.

Comparing your selves to Port considering how crap Port have been aswell as your market share is nOt really relevant. You should be comparing yourselves to West Coast who have become an absolute financial powerhouse over the last 10 years. Sure the WA economy and their population is booming, but this is the club that shares the most similarities with the Crows.

Except the WAFL are not greedy SOB.

Collectively the 2 clubs have and using an estimate we have 70,000 (40k & 30K) members and we both lost money this year. It baffles me how, except greed.
