Its Time For Trigg To Resign.

Without making any personal observations, I thought Trigg (as a supposed businessman) would know instinctively that a verbal contract is not worth the paper it's written on. Especially after his last clerical error

One thing that has come out of this is that people power/public opinion can work. If enough of you are vocal about getting rid of Trigg, get a few influential people behind you and get some media types who have Crows affiliation (ala McDermott) to back it, it can happen. Cheerleaders like Rowe and Cornes are actually doing your club a dis service.

McDermott has no pull. Cornes has more than him. If we could get Hewwitt, Andrew Jarman, Roo etc. it could be possible.

This is surely a big part of the reason for giving Trigg a weak penalty. Knowing that for the rest of his tenure he'll be too indebted and powerless to stand up to the AFL on any subject.

Bingo - he has no authority or gravitas anymore.

And if I was a cynic, I'd think this entire thing was a publicity stunt.

At least the shitty state of our revenue isn't being discussed anymore.

We need someone in the media to start questioning why we are not making massive profits?

And I can not see a McDermott, Jarman, Cornes, KG, Ricciuto, saying anything abd I don't think anyone would take enough notice of someone like David Penberthy.

Hopefully we have a high profiled supporter in the corporate world start questioning this and puts the pressure on.

Is his voice worse than Roo's? Its horrible.

The thing that I find most unbelievable about this episode from a crows perspective is that we didn't see a need to put a formal written submission to the SANFL outlining the proposal especially considering we were planning on a fairly extensive commercialisation strategy on a product we don't own! ..and then to here Trigg's weak explanation on 5AA last night that the SANFL didn't request it  The point is that WE should have needed this information written as a proposal for our needs regardless of what the SANFL said they needed. Have we learned nothing from Tippet gate. This is standard governance that any CEO/ COO/ CFO would undertake in a major commercialisation proposal.

I understand the need for coaches to have a footy background but struggle to understand the AFLs attraction to recruiting ex footy players to CFO/COO/CEO positions when a fresh experienced, professional perspective from other industries would do a world of good for a very insular industry.

Nigel Smart has come through this looking decidedly amateurish and immature (I cringed at the dumb 'I don't care' statement...are you COO or a blind supporter...terribly unprofessional) and Trigg appears to have learned nothing about the importance of documentation and process.

No question in my mind now that we need fresh leadership at the top.

It is without doubt the most disgraceful, pathetic, inept piece of 'leadership' ive ever seen.

How could anyone defend this incompetent embarrassing individual any more.

This has to be the final straw for Trigg, the man has totally lost the plot and the administration of the club seems in disarray.

A very sorry episode for the club. Gosh lets hope we can win some games this year.

I don't mind Smart being brash and smug. We complain that we want our admin to be more like Sheedy/Eddie etc when representing our club, then when it happens we criticise it.

When Port people are smug the PAPs fap each other in 100 page threads, when we get some attitude our admin go back into their shells. We should be backing Smart's approach and attitude to the hilt.

:thumbsu: We need more of this brash arrogant fu** em attitude I think to the AFL, the SANFL, PAPS, rucci, etc - bugger being nice guys, look where that has got the Club (buggered in the true sense of the word)

The thing with being arrogant and smug is you need to make sure you don't leave yourself open to ridicule by making mistakes or stupid statements.

If Trigg and Chapman backed it up with some fire in the belly instead of being meek no-one would be looking stupid other than those making false statements about the sanctity of the jumper.

There's a difference between being brash and smug and downright incompetent.

I like the attitude of Smarty, it's what we need - the mid 90's 'We're Carlton, **** the rest' mentality. It's a major step away from the conservative, she'll be right, knitting in the stands, choir boy, piss-ant attitude we've had for the rest of our existence.

Not submitting the documentation to support our endeavour is where incompetence creeps in again. I think we're all getting tired of the lack of regard our administration dept. have for due diligence and process - we're running this club like a back door, under the table small-business which is downright pathetic.

It's great to see our on-field/ off-field mentality shift from conservative/conservative to aggressive/aggressive but it all needs to be supported by professionalism - something that we truly lack.

We have all rehashed the litany of errors made by the Crows after the last few years and I can't really see how Trigg keeps his job. Ultimately the buck stops with the CEO. If after all these mistakes we don't hold Trigg accountable, why do we pay him as a CEO? He might be a nice guy and all but that doesn't mean he deserves the job. I don't actually think he would be a particularly nice guy given his willingness to attack the supporter base whenever he is criticised. Happy to label supporters as pathetic but too gutless to stand up for the club. I know why all my Port Power supporting friends think Trigg is the best thing to ever happen to the AFC. Just the same as I was hoping Primus would stay coach of the Power. After all, Matty Primus is a nice guy...

Well looks like I was wrong to stick up for Trigg on this one. (nice timing) Anyways like some said, what the hell! Verbal! Please no, the man has not learnt a thing.

Me too brother. Can't believe I gave him the benefit of doubt on this. Geez he's a moron.

He didn't. The only Person open to criticism is Whicker.

Smart has done nothing wrong.

Yes he did. He acted on a verbal without giving Wicker all the details i.e. Our plan to sell it to the public. He along with all of the club misread the huge backlash

have no issue with a bit of smart arrogance so long as we get our bloody paperwork in order first!

Get your ducks lined up before you pull that shit.

Talking the talk if you can't walk the walk is just pathetic and embarrassing. I want us to be brash, bold and confident - but not when we're half arsing things in the background and leaving ourselves exposed to ridiculed.

Smart looks like a knob now.

Trigg, I'm sure he's a good bloke, but he is completely and hopelessly out of his depth; simple as that.

Whicker didn't want it . As he said he made the call.

Paperwork or not the SANFL changed its mind.

Trigg's inability to stand up to Whicker is a huge issue for me. Plus the fact he doesn't learn.
