There better be changes at the end of the year. I will hold off paying for my 2015 membership until I see change. If Chapman wants to treat me as a "customer" than I will start acting like a customer, as opposed to a football supporter. If I don't see an attractive product being offered than my purse stays firmly in my cod piece.

This is what he doesn't seem to grasp.

We're not hating on Trigg because we're losing games.

We're hating on Trigg because his actions make it more likely that we will lose games.

He seems to think there is no connection between his performance and what we see on-field.
The mentality from Trigg and our board is toxic and is killing the club

Trig's either heavily in denial or extremely deluded as 10 years of apathy and poor management has lead to the mess that we've turned into. Take Fremantle for instance, they'e paying their coach about 3 times more than we're paying Sanderson, yet they will still make about 10x more profit than we will at the end of the year. I am not sure how Trigg is failing to grasp the reality that under his watch we've gone from the most powerful club in the AFL to one now that cannot compete with our rivals off the field.

I used to wonder why the club stopped trying to chase the best coaches in the land, but the reality that I've come to accept is that we simply do not have the money to land them anymore. This is obviously why the club never bothered to chase Ross Lyon and went for the cheap option of Sanderson instead. Internally the club appears to have resigned itself to the reality that the only option the club has financially is to take the cheap option and just hope that it works out.

To be perfectly honest I think we can also forget the pipe dream of leading a high profiled Senior assistant next year as this club does not have the 700,000-1,000,000 to throw at Thompson or someone of that ilk. We're now a minnow off the field and due to this we have the same problems that clubs like the Bulldogs and St Kilda have in that they simply don't have the warchest to compete for high profiled coaches with the big clubs.

Your one year behind me, I was going to buy up this year and get one for the old man, But there is no way in hell I will why we have this lot running things.

On replacing Bailey..

We don't quite know yet what the role will involve; strategy/innovation or player development.

But we have some irons in the fire.

The wheels are in motion.

"Hi.. would you like to join our football department in an as yet undefined role?"
Seriously amateurish stuff. How do you even know what people you should be looking at if you've not yet defined the bloody role? You may find a brilliant strategist who has NFI how to develop a players talent and vice versa.

I would have thought that strategy/innovation was the important one, consideing we already have a slew of development coaches. Bailey may have been good in the player development area, but he was hired as our strategy and innovation coach, the player development side of things was a bonus.

Correct.

Unfortunately the real reason they are saying "hmm we're not sure whether we'll go for strategy or development" is not because they're not sure which they'd rather have, it's because there's a limited number of people available and they'll just have to see who they can get. Then whatever that person's skills, they'll spin it by saying "Well we thought about it and eventually decided to go for this particular approach.."

Bullseye.

Or, lo and behold, we've already got someone within the organisation who'll be perfect. Peter Jonas... promoted to Strategy & Innovation Manager.

(I actually like Jonas and wish he had more of a presence but anywho)

I'd love to know how they expect to be held to account?

If the members can not vote fir them to come in or go out - how is the Adelaide board going to be held to account?

No one has ever asked this question, it's as if they are infallible and never likely to make a mistake.

Have they forgotten they are just custodians of the club. **** me, they are joke.

Good point.

Why wouldn't we at least be acting jonas in the role til it's filled.

Jesus I can seriously see this happening. What a depressing thought. "We searched and searched and searched..and then just promoted someone on the payroll.."

And yes, no offence Peter Jonas.

If they promote from within I'm taking up Richmond membership. At least they're realistic about how stuffed they are.

They asked the key sponsors and key members (whoever or whatever they are) and all got the thumbs up.

ADELAIDE Football Club chief executive Steven Trigg is on the attack. If only the same theme oozed from his office to the football field.

Trigg at the weekend went into a radio booth at Subiaco Oval to take issue with the negativity that surrounds commentary on the Crows, both in the media (where the club is not short of fans nor ambassadors) and the supporter base.

“Old news” and “reflective of on-field results,” they say. But on-field results have not improved - and member frustration with the club remains evident, particularly among former players who are plotting their “takeover” of the board.

More concerning for Trigg and Chapman is how this confidential report was leaked from within the Adelaide Football Club. The era of the singing canaries is back. Clearly someone with the bubble at West Lakes is not so positive nor upbeat.

Yes. Interesting that there is mention of 'former players plotting takeover of the board'.
They are running scared.

They know their days are numbered. We are in the home straight to change. Hopefully not but if we lose to North, Essendon (but I think we will win this) and then get smashed in the showdown - that week something could happen.

Actually a decent article for a change.

Keep up the pressure & the facts rooch!

Next article - pick an Afc team with the draft picks we lost from tippett-gate sanctions.

Or request an interview with chappy that finally gives us the promised explanation of tippett-gate. You can let him know that he can reveal all as demetriou said he wants afc to come clean to members & afl not preventing this.

They are busily scrambling a contract extension as we speak to announce next Monday. Reilly or Dangerfield ;)
