Watts on 5AA starts off with having to listen to Rowe's diatribe about supposedly his lisp.

Sounds like he was pretty much sold on Ken's sales pitch and the players' pitch and it was a fait accompli after that he would end up at Port.

Melbourne fans have backed in Jack, didn't want him to go. Admits he has been the most criticized Melbourne player ever and also the most supported ever.

Rowe asks about Ken and if he has discussed his role. Said he will play as that forward who can connects and scores. Not expected to play as that big key forward - which was happy about that - use my strengths and help out the big fella Charlie.

Bickley asked who he is looking forward to playing with. About 7 of them, Wingard, Gray up forward. singled out Travis Boak and work ethic. Mentioned "playing next to the big fella up forward and put a few on his chest and keep him happy."

Says he is looking forward to playing at AO and says as an opposition player got goosebumps listening to NTUA and can only imagine how good it is as a Port player. Said playing at AO would be next to playing to MCG.

Girlfriend studying in Montreal, studying arts and interested in indigenous cultural and history and speaks French. Good another french speaker who can do stuff with Naval Group and others.

Charlie Dixon, meet the bloke who is going to enable your scoring potential to levels you are yet to experience.

No wonder they were the first to follow each other on social media. No doubt they've had chats and the bromance of the year has already begun.

Congrats to Jak Watts, just wondering though is this the first time we've taken a player from the Demons?

Toumpas, Peter Walsh and, way back when, Matthew Bishop.

Man you guys are killing it this week. Such quality players in at little cost.

In: Rockliff, Motlop and Watts
Out: Pick 31

It sounds like the most one-eyed batshit BigFooty trade in history.

I'll be honest, this one gives me more joy and hope for 2018 than Motlop and about as much as Rockliff.

But all three bring some much needed class

Also love how he knew as soon as he spoke to Kern and the other players.

Thanks. Feeling lucky. Best thing is they all address serious needs.

Victorian, Brighton Grammar alum, AIS scholarship, number 1 draft pick... Ports recruit.

Aware that there are real knocks on him as a player, duh, but man. Symbolically this is just huge.

Me finding out Watts only cost us pick 31 in this year's draft AND the dees are paying some of his Port salary...

Melbourne contingent on my Facebook are very saddened to lose him.

It's funny how supporters love players that love their club isn't it?

It seems like Melbourne FC broke Jacks heart when they told him 1 year away from life membership that they didn't want him. It would also seem to me that he is the perfect fit for Port Adelaide.

Club and team first.

Let's give him lots of love and judging by his comments on NTUA it won't take long for him to be PAFC to his core.

Let's back Jack.

would you dangle pick 34 for Aaron Francis? all they can say is no and they just might bite with a hour to go on thursday? What ever his short comings are i did rate him in his draft year and chances are you wont be getting any better through the draft

I'm not overly keen on him but for 34 **** it, why not.

Make no mistake - this is like rubbing an old lamp and having a football genie pop out and grant you three wishes.

Wish 1 - a gun inside clearance player who can rotate with Gray up forward in Rockliff

Wish 2 - outside class to replicate what Polec can do on the opposite wing and force opposition sides to stretch their defence in Motlop

Wish 3 - a classy roaming centre half who can expose the space that Polec and Motlop create through the middle by stretching the defence in Watts

i don't want to burst your bubble guys but don't forget that we got rid of him for a reason.

he has played 1 good season in 9 seasons, he came 21st in our best and fairest this year and gets dropped to our reserves team at least once a season.

There are a lot of melbourne fans that bemoan this trade but you don't hear from the supporters that are thrilled of his departure.

He doesn't go hard at the ball, sit under high balls and tackle with intensity. the reason he gets ignored by teammates is because he has no onfield presence. he only averages 2 inside 50 kicks a game and 8 in total so don't expect too much link up. he is a straight kick but just dont expect him to go and get the ball.

For pick 31 though it's worth a shot at correcting his bad habits.
