This man is going to be some sort of a footballer. Really enjoyed watching him in that first quarter. I am sure you will enjoy watching him for the next 10-12 years. He has a very good football brain for a youngster. :thumbsu:

Thread #20?

But yes, brilliant signs, love this kid. Can't wait for all the nay-sayers to eat their humble pie :)

Saw him play up here for Casey and he was very ordinary.
From what I've seen tonight he is going to be some player.
Completely different attack on the ball.
Well done to the kid.

As far as I'm concerned, he has shown enough to silence the people who said he was a dud. The only thing holding him back is the lack of a pre-season. He can't run out a game at the moment. Barely even a half. But once he can do that, he will kick a lot of goals.

He's got his spot now, can spend the rest of the year growing into it.

As long as he does his bit every week, the naysayers will jump off his back and let him develop.

I must admit, I was never aware of his hands at ground level being so good when we drafted him. I knew he was a great kick and mark and had some pace but the control in slippery conditions is superb. Great to watch!

Despite the slippery contested conditions, his ball control was superb. Just so clean, rarely fumbles, uses it well, and picks the right option. He obviously still struggles with contested marking and aerobic capacity, but that will come with time.

Very pleased with his game tonight, and hopefully that will stop the "you should have drafted Naitanui" comments from every Joe Blow.

Unbelievably clean hands, and has that sort of DalSanto like "time and space" when he gets the ball. Difference is that he's doing it at 6 foot 4!!!

If he has the desire and continues to work on his fitness and size, the world is at his feet!

Few things from the post match interview on SEN: Spoke pretty well i thought, didn't sound like a robot like some of the younger players do with their bland answers, but sounded more just like a bloke would in a casual conversation with mates. Admitted that that he needs to work on his tank as he was pretty stuffed in the second half. Said he was 'thankful' that they held him back in casey so he could EARN his spot, and its only been in the last 4 weeks that he has actually felt comfortable with himself in the team, and he feels more comfortable with 'demanding' the ball from teammates.

:thumbsu:

He's always had a good speaking voice. Scully too. Trengove needs a bit of work in that area.

Finally those ignorant Watts trolls might shut up for a while, not that they are worth taking seriously though.

Thats got more value than anything else. He has made a spot for himself in the team & it is his alone to lose because DB won't drop him unless his form demands it.

Well done JW.

You right he only needs to do his 'bit" each week, grow as a player & he will never see the seconds again.

Miller in the team seemed to free him up also.

They really seem to work well together. I assume the timein the VFL has taught them who goes where and when.

Just can not wait for Jack to dvelop his tank.

Jamar sitting on the ground with Leigh Colbert after the game, spoke like a true pro in what must be a rare interview. Get him as the official club spokesman!

That was absolutely hilarious the fact that they were sitting down!

Agree with all of what was said but the biggest standout for me was

RUNNING BACK WITH THE FLIGHT OF THE BALL IN THE 1ST Q, DID NOT STOP AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN CLEANED UP BUT SHOWED HEART, THIS 5 GAME KID IS A GEM!

Thought he played really well tonight, how good was that hanball in the middle of the ground when he swooped down, one handed pick up and the silkiest handball straight to Brad Green I think it was, good signs from Watts.

Going to be a gun, never really understood all the bagging of him, probably because of the way Naitanui is going at the moment I spose, people were thinking of another Tambling and Buddy situation, which is pretty rediculous really.

Hope he proves all the ignorant people wrong, which I think he will.
Good Luck for season 2010.
Except Rnd.12 :D
