Traded Jake Stringer [traded to Essendon]

Annoyed that Stringer wants out but at the same time, if he leaves and that money goes towards Re-signing Bont and Macrae
I won't be mad

Yep.

We can also add Cameron Zurhaar to that list of players.

Ah yes. I'm sure north won't look at stringer because Cameron Zurhaar is on their list.

Just like if Alex Rance asked for a trade the bulldogs wouldn't think about it because we have Lewis Young.

Essendon could jump in with our first pick. (11+ depending on finals).

Would not be relied upon to do it all at Essendon due to us having a forward line. He would also be able to push up into the middle for bursts.

I'd offer hawks future 1st but i suspect other clubs would be able to pip that.

Not many clubs will be able to beat a top 4 pick from hawthorne.

2015 his value would of been a top 5 pick and a second... But after the last two years and his mental stability due to his relationship bust up a pick between 10-20 I see fair value.. I would be happy for essendon to risk their first round this year for him.

Is it him wanting out or is it just better for the dogs trade wise if that is the case? I can't see a team getting much for a player they are pushing out so it would make sense.

What would he have to be upset about? Did his exit meeting tell him they were unhappy with his year and he took it personally?

We tried to trade with GWS to take him in the minidraft as a 17yo so we are probably still keen but we won't overpay on salary so if he wants big $ he will go to another vic club.

Keen. We need that X Factor big time. Probably less about him playing forward and more midfield (in a way replacing Riewoldt as that floating wing type).

If he actually wants out could see a club like north go all in for him
Pick 4, 21 and either next year 2nd or goldy for stringer and pick 9
29 year old injured ruckman for pick 9 and 23 year old Stringer? That makes no sense.

Don't think he'd fit Bolton's plans with his ego. Would give up the Gibbs pick for him but the Dogs will want higher and fair enough. Great player.

Richmond would be mad not to snag him with the currency they have.

Stringer at peak is worth a top ten pick.
Stringer currently is worth 10-20 and a swap of later picks.

As someone mentioned, he is icing not the cake... Clubs like Geelong, Essendon, Richmond, Melbourne and St Kilda should be all up in this.

Think you will find we are all over him...thx Hawks

Kicked 24 goals this year.

Question is: Why way is the curve heading?
He played 16 games with 2 of those injured in the first quarter. It was an injury interrupted year with multiple injuries derailing his campaign. I'd prefer to judge his 50 previous games rather than a season such as this one.

Doesn't have the tank to play Riewoldt's role - Roo was an elite endurance athlete. Stringer is all X factor, will be mostly forward who pinch hits in the middle as a burst mid.

Stringer, lol, why would any team want to recruit a flakey selfish "Motlop" time that would cost you 700k. What a waste of time! Oh yeah, would want to keep him away from others players wives. Just sayin.
Ah trade time, when the clueless pop their heads out.

I don't think North have enough available picks to get him. I doubt the Doggies would accept Goldy and 21, which is the best we would do as we would want our first for either the Kelly trade or picking up a top player.

Definitely doesn't have the tank to be a HFF or wing. He's very much an impact player.

He's still worth a lot based on ability, but it's been clear since 2016 that Stringer has been at odds with Bevo's idea of 'team'. Fair enough IMO, he's definitely shown some less than ideal character traits.

Would be great and worth a lot for a club with players around him that would keep him in check.

I think a move could be good for Jake. I suspect Dogs won't quite get what they want, but something in the pick 10-20 value range.

Huge questions marks over String - but not his talent. Which is all-world. I'd be OK for Carlton to take a swing.
He's under contract so we can play hard-ball at the trade table. I suspect we'd need overs to consider trading him.
