He's a vegan? No wonder he's so ******* small and weak.

I'm sorry if I offend anyone but I think veganism is ******* idiotic for a professional athlete. I think it's idiotic in general but I understand some people wanting to go down that path. I don't understand anyone athlete that thinks you can compete at the highest level as a vegan. Sure, there are a few fringe sports where you could probably be okay. But a legitimate high output sport requiring so much strength, just insane.

Pendlebury is a vegan

Pretty sure he’s not.

Edit: make that certain he’s not.

That’s from his FB account just before the season began.

Given that Alex is a nutritionist and no half decent nutritionist would recommend a vegan diet, I’d be very surprised if he’s recently made the switch.

I just don't get the Aish debate. Let's look at the facts:

1. Only 21-years old
2. Dominated at VFL level all year - a class above
3. Wasn't selected in the R1 team after a decent pre-season and a strong end to 2016
4. Played R2, but was then dropped after just one game
5. Called back into the side for R8, but was injured in R9 and missed 2 weeks with fractured jaw
6. Recalled in R12, but dropped after one game again - in which he had 22 disposals, 8 marks, 4 tackles and 1 goal (vs Dees)
7. Recalled in R14, but again dropped after one game AGAIN
8. returned in R21, to play the last 3 games of the year

How is a young man supposed to gain confidence in the AFL if his coach uses him as a yoyo?
This is my biggest frustration with Bucks - he doesn't seem to have any patience with young talent at times.
Yet, Blair plays every week.
That's a good argument to leave Aish and see what he can do with the season coming.

He'll have to do it ofcourse. He has to demand selection.

A point on Blair, he only played 12 games this season
(One was as emergency if memory serves)

So in effect it's clearly being signalled he's on the way out.

Pretty sure he’s not.

Edit: make that certain he’s not.

So he's eating grass.. lol nutritionists.. if you stick to the 5 basic food groups you can not go wrong.

Given that these guys finished their season almost 4 weeks ago you would have thought it would be the minimum expectation of a professional athlete to be doing some sort of work by now, especially of one who's career is seriously hanging by a thread!

I say expectation as it's obviously not a requirement.

You would hope that perhaps a high performance manager, strength coach, conditioning coach, senior player, the guy spotting him, the gym cleaner would have picked up on Aish's extended wrist positioning on the bar and put 2 and 2 together and worked out why he is still built like a 14 year old....

I saw Pendlebury and Alex and Rockpool at the casino in March this year. Didn't see what they were eating, but Rockpool is a steak place.

Indeed.

The dry-aged porterhouse on offer is above average at that establishment.

For mr Aish I'd prescribe one of the above beauties (@ 500gm) for dinner every day until such time that he develops more lean-body-mass than the average 16 year old Australian male... small steps.

The five basic groups being....

1. Beef
2. Lamb
3. Pork
4. Beer
5. Pizza

Hopefully he plays in his designated role next season which has to be as an inside mid.
That's where he is most suited.
He isn't afraid to put his over it and he often handballs more than he kicks which is a shame as he has very neat footskills.

He isn't an outside player or a half back flanker.

He needs to be part of the rotation mix on ball- contest to contest.

Well right now we've got chuck mince, does anyone know if he has any issues? you know apart from not getting the frickin ball enough.

Near as I can figure (and it's a nightmare) this is what we got and what we could have had, don't know enough about the other players to make a call but games played for each group is listed

Trade: James Aish, Brayden Sier, Rupert Wills, Ben Crocker (98 games)

Draft: Ryan Clarke, Mitchell Hibberd, Blake Hardwick, Joe Atley (41 games)

*Take out Aish's 55 games and it's close, so much of this trades success rests with him as it should

Pies gain: Aish, 34, 53 (ontraded to GWS for a slew of picks: Sier Wills Crocker)

Pies lose: 26, 28, 47 and 2016 2nd Rnd (St Kilda)

Note: You can argue Phillips should be in there as we essentially gave up 63 for 66 among that slew of picks but I figured they were so close we still would have got him, but if you are looking for something to put us ahead of that trade we theoretically got him from a traded pick

*Oh look my thread got buried next to my last incarnation... you gotta love the irony
