Hird had another serious bike accident a few years ago, riding over tram tracks.

No matter what you think of Hird, you can't say that he ever lacked physical courage.

You could also say he's not very good on a bike and should maybe stick to the Toorak tractor

Roads were built for cars. Cyclists should be free to use roads, but not to slow down cars.

Think about how much time you spend slow or stationary behind other motor vehicles, almost all of them single occupant. For most people this is the majority of their commuting.

Think about how much time you need to slow down to pass a cyclist. A few seconds here and there.

What is really slowing people down?
