Jeremy Corbyn, former UK Opposition Leader

No they weren't.

Corbyn became unelectable because of the years-long fake antisemitism smear campaign.
Boris wasn't just "not that much better", he was and is a worse human being on any and every measure, innately dishonest, totally devoid of any political principles, in it for himself and only himself.

As I said, the members face and may still face a tough decision - replace Coirbyn for the sake of political expediency, or support him as a matter of principle, decency and honesty.

There is simply no comparison between Corbyn/British labor party, and Shorten/ALP.
They are in completely different political universes.

Australia's centre-right ALP is just Tweedledee to the LNP's Tweedledum, and has been ever since Hawke et al hijacked the party and disfranchised the left in Australian politics 40 years ago with the help of his mates in the DLP unions and the crooks at NSW Labor HQ.

British labor under Corbyn, supported by the majority of its membership, became once again a genuine centre-left party after the deplorable Blair takeover; which, of course, explains why the billionaires' press so eagerly jumped on the fake antisemitism campaign as soon as the Israelis started it - much easier than saying "We don't like him because he threatens our political and economic control".
Labor's biggest problem was the irreconcilable split over Brexit, between its pro-Remain membership, and its pro-Leave working class constituency. This issue is now effectively settled, and the party's problem now is to regain its industrial-area voters.

Anyway, the investment in the smear campaign has worked, congratulations to its instigators, perpetrators, useful idiots and fellow travellers, you should all be proud of yourselves. You're welcome to the world of BoZo and his gang of Neanderthals and morons.

Have a read of this thread. Nails Corbyn completely.

Fred Corbyn hated Jews accept it. It was never a smear time and time again he confirmed it.

Or by your responses we can only determine you should be on some nazi website as well.

Racism is evil, you must not in any way entertain it as you seem to be doing now.

Stop and reflect.

For one thing, the any left wing politician wanting to lead a political party should steer clear of the inane Israel-Palestine conflict. There are no votes in it.
That was part of his problem, his lifelong antiracist and anti-colonialist stances were formed and articulated decades before either he or anyone else ever considered him as a possible leader.

This result is evidence that the media can still create a narrative. Throughout this campaign, we have been told Corbyn is unpopular and unelectable. People door knocking say lots of voters commented on the unpopularity of Corbyn. He’s ‘shifty’, ‘untrustworthy’. But why exactly is he shifty, why is he untrustworthy? By any measure, Johnson told far more lies that were easily disprovable.

Now go back to 2017. Back then, Corbyn wasn’t shifty, he was ‘naive’ and ‘inexperienced’. What happened is that attack line didn’t work and he almost stole victory. So they changed the narrative. Now it became about racism and trust. I doubt a single person could articulate why we should trust Johnson more than Corbyn. But people simply repeated it.

A similar thing happened with Shorten. He was untrustworthy but if you ask people why, they can’t articulate it. It’s just the vibe, it’s the backstabbing leaders thing (while ignoring Morrison did exactly the same).

Repeat a line often enough and the simple minded will believe it.

Let’s come back to this when the multimillion-dollar media establishment backs progressive, left wing politicians, shall we.
The Guardian has over a billion dollars in trust and is run in multiple Anglophone countries. If it doesn’t appeal to the masses it doesn’t appeal.

Maybe left wing parties need to stop electing leaders who cant win.

Hilary.
Shorten.
Corbyn.
The ALP has not been "left wing" for 40 years since Hawke hijacked it and shifted it to a centre-right party.
The Democratic Party has never been "left wing" in any possible meaning of the words.

Maybe dimwitted voters need to look at, compare and decide on real-world policy options and not just simple-minded kindergarten concepts of "da leader".
