Feel like we should go all in on this kid. 2013 his first year as an understudy to pav, working out, training and learning how to be a pro from him. Then slowly bring him on in 2014 and by 2015 will be able to take over from the great man for the next 10+ years.

Minidraft is such a unique opportunity. We won't be in a position to get a potential top 3 draft talent for a long time and to have a chance at such a highly touted KPP doesn't happen very often.

Good, that's the rationale behind the mini-draft in the first place.

With the retirement brigade another year old and player's like Power and Brogan gone they'll have to bring players with AFL bodies and experience in or it aint gonna be pretty for their young players.

While I'm not that keen on that trade I would be very happy to look at Clarke for a mini-draft pick if that is all we had to give up.

Clarke for Wellingam would be a massive ****-up. It's not even that the trade is unfair, but if we see ourselves as a genuine premiership threat next year why would we provide Collingwood a quality player in a position that strengthens their aspirations?

Clarke helps the pies more than Wellingham helps us.

Barrett, though it's a stretch to call him an "expert".

I do get the impression however that he's developed some fairly reliable sources at GWS.

Effectively that is like rating Clarke a top 10 draft pick in terms of value. just don't see it having anywhere near the currency required to get Mini-draft pick. Clarke would be a sweetener to our 1st rounder, and that may be enough if GWS decide they really need a ruck with significant development already.

Personally, as a BF speculator, it is a price I would waver at, which probably means it is around correct weight.

Yes but every first found pick is going to be the best player that ever has been, until they actually play a game of footy, at which point there value drops to spud level and they should be traded for another first round pick as soon as possible.
